If you're facing combo with this regularity, then yes you want Silence to both protect against a surprise Surgical as well as a preemptive disruption.

Has anyone put in some time with Collective Brutality? I know we started some discussion, but could not agree which card(s) would be cut to make room for 1 or 2 copies of this card.

I would have never guessed that we could beat Miracles after losing Game 1, but holy shit is Bob/Mentor the tits against their shitty deck. 2-1 vs Miracles after G1 loss. WOW! Suck it Miracles.

You probably don't want the man-plan if you have these type of decks around. You will want Massacre, Silence or Surgical, Needle, and Chain of Vapor.

I agree with this, and also swapped 1 LDV for 1 Top. I like both, so I'm not inclined to swap to all Tops or all LDV at this point.

FWIW, I sub out 4 Graves 3 Goryo's, but keep 1 Reanimate in...

Shouldn't be an issue, you can even run Watery Grave. It might impact about 20% of games with Watery Grave, but otherwise you could run basic Island as well.

SB is always in flux, and Massacre / Dread of Night are part of the set, just not recently. There's too much MUD / Enchantress and hardly any D&T (maybe 1 player, who's now on Enchantress). Needle,...

You could try to win with Soul Spike, and retool the life gain elements. However, the math doesn't work out well with Griselbrand. You might be able to gain 1 extra activation of Griselbrand on...

There... is... presumably a method to loop Emrakul and Soul Spike all on the stack.
I don't think it's worth the trouble honestly, but it does legitimately kill at Instant speed.

I imagine this more-often-than-not becomes an issue of casting spells in the Maindeck, as the frequency of hardcasting Griselbrand is fairly low. It might have more merit in decks playing 3 or 4...

I recently added 1 SDT in place of 1 LDV, to support both Dark Confidant and Mentors. Only had 1 game (out of <10) that it came up.

It's hard to test SB slots when you don't draw them in SB...

Bob + Mentor + 1 Cavern seems like the real deal. I think playing only 3 Dark Confidant is a big mistake, when playing this sideboard.
