Re: [Deck] TinFins 3: Return of the Onion Burst

This is the biggest difference in my eyes: you don't need to run a Monastery Mentor package in the SB because hardcasting Magus in g2 is actually a solid plan B, and we can already do that with MD...

What are your thoughts about Magus of the mind? seems like post Griselbrand win more to me. Has it ever been good for you as the first animation target? Seems like a lottery machine without storm.

Re: [Deck] TinFins 3: Return of the Onion Burst

The general idea is that whenever you expect them to have spot removal (e.g. Swords) left in their sideboard and grave hate added into their deck, you should be on the man plan. Sideboarding for game...

I predict a bunch of Uxy tempo, value and combo decks with SB Cages and Surgicals flooding into the format.

Re: [Deck] TinFins 3: Return of the Onion Burst

Having to invest the mana on the turn you want to go off seems really bad for Abeyance cmc2. If we have so much extra mana around, we could be resolving a Sneak Attack or Through the Breach and...

Re: [Deck] TinFins 3: Return of the Onion Burst

In Br animator shell, I preferred running 1x Simian Spirit Guide over 1x Crome Mox. The main reason was not actually producing R color mana, which was uselss most of the time; the main reason was...

Re: TinFins 3: Return of the Onion Burst

IMO, unfair decks are likely to benefit the most, since they are mulliganing also in order to find their combo pieces and not only for the spell/land ratio like many of the fair decks. The more a...

This comment got me thinking...what do we need blue for?

    Troll Fins (Bg)

    Land (16)
    8x Swamp
    4x Llanowar Wastes

Re: TinFins 3: Return of the Onion Burst

Agreed. Random Deathrite thrown into a non-blue/non-black deck we can work with. BUG delver shell with all of that disruption in MD is an all-around horrible MU.

    Some ways to fight Deathrite:

    1) go off t1 on the draw or t2 on the play
    2) win coin flip, t1 blindly name Deathrite to Cabal
    3) run Thoughtseize over Cabal, win coin flip, t1 seize out...
