Re: [Deck] TinFins 3: Return of the Onion Burst

I'm really unsure why you would want or consider K'rrik. Griselbrand is a tool to draw cards/deck before deciding how you intend to win. K'rrik just becomes modestly big for an awful lot of effort,...

Re: [Deck] TinFins 3: Return of the Onion Burst

This is my take on the basic build, but its on the traditional slant. I've not included Collective Brutality as i'm unsure how good it is now, although as an enabler it is still valuable.

Re: [Deck] TinFins 3: Return of the Onion Burst

I’m unsure, part of the reason I’ve been on TinFins is the believe of many that DRS was an effective answer to graveyard strategies. Without several counters, or two active DRS’s, or a fast clock as...

Re: [Deck] TinFins 3: Return of the Onion Burst

I’ve found 4x Careful Study with 4x Reanimate to be the fastest UB build (12 land + 2 Mox, 10 Reanimate, 6 discard). Unfortunately there is a real cost; a less reliable same turn kill when you often...

Re: [Deck] TinFins 3: Return of the Onion Burst

thanks, good deck choice for the field, but a lot of luck also.

I can’t find a perfect mix, but was happy with 8 + 4 GP. If I was more familiar with the current meta I’d be on 4 CT and 2 TS. ...

I’d not played the deck in a while, made misplays, got lucky on occasion, and should have taken different lines at various points. The GP was very diverse (ok, a fair volume of reliable family...

I had the exact same thought. Then read the card again. I'm pretty sure you only get to choose each mode once.

Re: [Deck] TinFins 3: Return of the Onion Burst

    Nice write up.

Im interested as to what the default equipment to fetch was, or the framework / decisions to fetch Jitte over Batterskull or vice versa. With SFM before Mentor, did you favour...

Of that there is no dispute. He does however play very well with Lilly (madness) and is safer when you board 1/2 reanimate 1/2 man-plan keeping the 8/15 drops.

Re: [Deck] TinFins 3: Return of the Onion Burst

I may well regret this suggestion!! but I have the hope Asylum Visitor (3/1 Hellbent Arena) might be playable (might... and will likely but unsurprised when proven to be terrible). Whilst not as...

Re: [Deck] TinFins 3: Return of the Onion Burst

Fair point. SFM does draw you the card. All too often I was left with batterskull in hand and no prayer of resolving it in time, or the Germ being dealt with and a 5cmc rock left in play. Jitte...

Re: [Deck] TinFins 3: Return of the Onion Burst

I’ve tested 3-4 SFM + 4 Mentor. The plan is solid with a better creature matchup than Bob + Mentor.

I found Batterskull awkward, having SFM routinely eat a bolt/Decay and a 5cmc stranded in hand...

Re: [Deck] TinFins 3: Return of the Onion Burst

Burning Wish, LDV, and Grim all do the same, add consistency; through improved T3 kill rate, tutoring for transformational SB's, and artificial copies of SB cards. LDV is the best of the three, and...

Quite simply you play A B or those dated 1994. Nothing else is acceptable.

Re: [Deck] TinFins 3: Return of the Onion Burst

I'm including the 15th land SB, pretty essential I've found so far. I'm running Tundra, but can understand Cavern although I'm wary of the drawback in not casting cantrips.

    DnT etc Game 3 I...

Re: [Deck] TinFins 3: Return of the Onion Burst

I'm fully on-board with LDV again having gone back to two; the turn three kill or post-board silver bullet, is invaluable.

We had a ~40 persons event last weekend, skilfully arriving in ninth at...

Re: [Deck] TinFins 3: Return of the Onion Burst

I find swinging with Griselbrand + Emrakul to be roughly equal to Tendril's wins with or without Griselbrand swinging; but cannot recall having hard cast Emrakul. I must correct this and hard cast...

Re: [Deck] TinFins 3: Return of the Onion Burst

To really boost Mentor you need a pair of SDT, and it's just not come up so often to categorically reach a conclusion, but I've been unimpressed. Petals is effectively reserved as a W source for...

Re: [Deck] TinFins 3: Return of the Onion Burst

I cut 2 LDV in place of Jace-V recently. Looting and flashing back are sweet, but the loss of a tutor for the missing part was just too great. LDV fixes the hand to essentially guarantee T3, finds...

Re: [Deck] TinFins 3: Return of the Onion Burst

I found Mentor and Bob to be great, but am not sold on SFM nor Delver (I'd run 4x Mentor, despite 3 cmc being high with 13/14 land). With Delver you are just a bad Delver deck, and SFM gives your...

3-1 at WNM with TinFins and a SB man plan, enjoying the scry rule.

Re: [Deck] TinFins 3: Return of the Onion Burst

Doomsday is good, but people are now very much aware of it, and killing yourself is an ever-present threat when forced to just go for it. You can drop the third LED for another bounce / spare SB...
