Re: [Deck] TinFins 3: Return of the Onion Burst

Why would you board into Mentor against Death and Taxes? The whole concept of that deck is to slow the game down and control the board. By turning yourself into a deck that plays to the board, a bad...

Re: [Deck] TinFins 3: Return of the Onion Burst

I can do a quick run down of my matches as I played against eight different decks and you want to do different things in all match ups.

    2-0 Elves
Pretty straight forward. Their deck is just too...

Re: [Deck] TinFins 3: Return of the Onion Burst

Played in the Classic in Indy this weekend. Went 6-2 to make 16th on breakers.

    List from this weekend: http://sales.starcitygames.com//deckdatabase/displaydeck.php?DeckID=99993

    I was trying...

Re: [Deck] TinFins 3: Return of the Onion Burst

Your list is interesting. I understand what you mean about Ponder but I think it's not necessarily correct. Yes, Ponder is bad when you're trying to put multiple cards together when winning on turn...

Re: [Deck] TinFins 3: Return of the Onion Burst

I edited the list to have Wishes in there.

I've decided not to play Faithless Looting because it's harder to come by two red mana on the same turn instead of just a red and a blue. Looting is...

Re: [Deck] TinFins 3: Return of the Onion Burst

I told Kathal that I would post my updated list for him. Not much has changed but I've moved a few pieces around from some suggestions I've gotten.

    Lands - 13
    1 Badlands
    3 Bloodstained Mire
    1...

Re: [Deck] TinFins 3: Return of the Onion Burst

AJ's list looks like he looked at the deck list then took out all of the "stupid" cards. At first glance I can see why you wouldn't want to play with Tendrils and Children of Korlis because the deck...

Re: [Deck] TinFins 3: Return of the Onion Burst

Not just for playing Tin Fins, but if cards use old rules wording look up the oracle text on them. Some cards have had rules updates/changes that are important to know.

Re: TinFins 3: Return of the Onion Burst

Well, I think once they surgical your Griselbrand the best thing to do is try to Emrakul their resources away, and with Burning Wish I'm able to get the last points through. But I think the pure UB...

Re: TinFins 3: Return of the Onion Burst

Surgical Extraction is aggressive, but I think Grafdigger's Cage is a worse offender. Card is just too good.

.dk, I agree with all that you said. That's the best you can do in a pretty bad...

Re: TinFins 3: Return of the Onion Burst

Some of the Grixis decks play Surgical as their graveyard hate but it's mostly the variants that want to play Snapcaster Mages. I think it's reasonable to play around to an extent. You can't just sit...

This was actually the first Legacy deck I've completed. I've had to borrow cards every time I played Legacy in paper but I finished out the list at GenCon this year....

Have been playing with German Shallow Graves and was surprised with the number of people who just trusted me to tell them what it did.

To troll I'm trying to have all of my cards in non-english languages but not have them all match. Aso, the amount of judge calls you get to ask for what cards do is pretty entertaining.

Re: TinFins 3: Return of the Onion Burst

Yeah, it should be the same list but here it is just in case it's different:

    1 Badlands
    2 Bloodstained Mire
    1 Island
    4 Polluted Delta
    1 Swamp
    2 Underground Sea
    1 Volcanic Island

Re: TinFins 3: Return of the Onion Burst

Play my version with Burning Wish during GenCon weekend. Over the two events I played, record was 11-1-2 with two wins over Miracles during the run. Still don't think the deck is well positioned, but...

I think the version of the deck I built was much better pre-Treasure Cruise ban because Miracles moved out of the format a lot more during this time. Now that Miracles is one of the more represented...

Re: TinFins 3: Return of the Onion Burst

From watching, I also felt that the Liliana was pretty powerful but I think if you were attempting to play the deck for speed, it isn't the route you want. However, since the metagame has shifted...

Re: TinFins 3: Return of the Onion Burst

Sorry this update took so long.

    Round 1: Dredge (2-1)

Good looking deck and hope it ran well for you!

I'm not exactly sure I understand, but why is the Burning Wish version weaker to discard? You're trying to put the same amount of pieces together so I would feel that the decks have equal problems...

Empty the Warrens is okay. It's a good backup plan when your opponent turns off the graveyard but the problem is that you might not be able to pump out a huge amount of Goblins the way Belcher or TES...

Re: TinFins 3: Return of the Onion Burst

I've been playing Buried Alive in my wishboard and it's rarely been good. It's completely reasonable to play more Duress or something else. I would play some kind of shatter effect because a lot of...
