    Re: Magic 2010 Rules Changes

The only time people were really confused and argumentative about it was on MWS. In real tournaments, the opponents almost always held their hand up to say "wait" and then read the cards carefully...

    Re: Magic 2010 Rules Changes

Okay, so it seems like you're a newer player / the type of player that Wizards was trying to aid with these changes. So they're correct in that now they've matched what an average new player would...

How are the new rules intuitive though?

    Re: Magic 2010 Rules Changes

Jack's made a lot of valid points, and I'd like to say that even from a flavor point of view, I look at token creatures as being a representation of the memory/tie to that spell. This is magic,...

    Re: Magic 2010 Rules Changes

For the first time, Finn, let me personally say... you're a simpleton.

Just to touch on one of the many horrible points you make... anything more complicated than the norm requires lengthy...

    Re: Magic 2010 Rules Changes

I think I should speak on my own behalf, for all that I stood for and worked so long for.

Here is the final version of my design, which is now history. I was quite happy with this version, and...

    Re: Cascade Hypergenesis

You would play this deck... haha anyway, nice job.

That Autistic kid with Berserk stompy took me to game 3 too in a tournament... it scared the crap out of me that I almost lost. Also, we were...

    Re: [NCD] Wisescale Serpent

This can't be right! There must be some mistake.

... It's supposed to have flying.
  9. Re: [Signups] The Goyfless Source Tourny (For Science)

Interesting idea, it will be cool to see how this turns out...

(I won't be playing though, exams are approaching.)
  10. Re: [Article] Legacy's Allure - Grand Prix: Chicago Overview

I like Gifts Ungiven because, even though it costs :3::u:, it lets you choose 4 cards with different names out of your library and show them to the opponent. They get to chose two to go to your...
  11. Re: [Premium Article] Innovations - Blame it on the Counterbalance

I think TheInfamousBearAssassin and Forbiddan said it best...

Also, I think I've decided to splash for Goyf in my current deck.
  12. Re: [Premium Article] Innovations - Blame it on the Counterbalance

I hate doing this, but taking Logic really made these jump out at me: that's a slippery slope fallacy.

And some of us (without the extreme sense you're taking it as) do want to play without those...
  13. Re: [Premium Article] Innovations - Blame it on the Counterbalance

Okay, one more time: It doesn't matter if you play a ton of answers to Tarmogoyf, you will still lose to it if you can't find them and resolve them quickly.

Some good points have been brought up...
  14. Re: [Premium Article] Innovations - Blame it on the Counterbalance

I know everyone's sort of sick of this discussion, but I'll just say that it's not only that Tarmogoyf invalidated creatures... it's that it invalidates creatures and also gets to "oops I win" games...

Re: What ARB Means for Legacy

Not that we need one more thing to be up in arms about over a change... but axeing mana burn is absolutely rediculous.

As you said, it makes sense not only flavorfully (which is a huge point) but...
  16. Re: [Premium Article] Innovations - Blame it on the Counterbalance

I never wanted to complain about Tarmogoyf, but if we're talking about which of the three would be the most 'healthy' if banned, Tarmogoyf is more of a format-warper than Top or Counterbalance. ...

    Re: Going to play stompy

Yeah, I can't believe people play Stompy with fetchlands and land grant... losing to a counterspell/stifle is sad and stupid haha

You might want to play Horizon Canopy (not for the white, but as a...
  18. Re: [Article] Through My Eyes: A GP: Chicago Story

Yeah, I thought I hated Magic articles... this was a storybook.

I want to give partial credit to the color adjectives, but it was just well written overall.
  19. Re: [Article] Through My Eyes: A GP: Chicago Story

Wow, Gavin. I hate tournament reports, and this... was cool! Very well written.

Best part? You're a Missy Higgins fan
  20. Re: [Premium Article] Innovations - Blame it on the Counterbalance

Innovations? When was the last time Patrick Chapin did something innovative? Sure, he may be an excellent strategist, but "innovation" is a really strong word.

Re: [Report] mossivo @ GP Chicago

Hi Joel, interesting to read the day from your view, good report, and nice meeting you again.

You know how in round 3 I sat right next to you and your opponent? In round 4, I played you, and then...
  22. Re: [Report] Gran Prix Chicago from my point of view.

As far as I know, breakfast was $17 (at the Renaissance Schaumburg) right? We went to IHOP instead and I felt nauseous just reading the menu... I highly do not recommend IHOP before a Grand Prix.

Re: [Card Discussion] Ranger of Eos

I've been using him for a while with Proclamation of Rebirth, Promise of Bunrei, and one of my favorites: Loyal Sentry (Alaborn Zealot)
  24. Re: [Report] Gran Prix Chicago from my point of view.

Yeah, and Wifi cost $14.95. Per Day. Per Computer. (Total waste of money) ...I'd rather not have a random TV in the bathroom mirror if it means the hotel isn't randomly amenitiless.
  25. Re: GRAND PRIX: CHICAGO!!! - Live Coverage

I know what you mean, but a lot of people won't agree with you (probably especially on these boards).

I went to a tournament last Wednesday before I went to the Grand Prix and a lot of the guys...
