The deck playing 24 lands of which 9 basic plains and 4 aether vial shoud not really be afraid of wasteland , blood moon and back to basics. I mean, sometimes you will lose to this cards anyway...

Well, the cons are, of course, that you take damage. that's a problem agaonst like delver and burn. but in my experience it is worth it

    Re: [DTB] Death and Taxes

I know i'm probably the only one but i like playing mono white because i have access to 4 horizon canopies.
A manabase of 4 ports, 4 wastelands, 4 canopies, 3 karakas and 9 plains lets you play 24...

    Re: [DTB] Death and Taxes

The obvious change to that list is removing thalia, heretic cathar for a card that is worth tutoring for like mirran crusader, banisher priest, mangara or palace jailer.

I think by now is pretty...

    Re: [DTB] Death and Taxes

On the Chrome Mox/Mox diamond debate.

As Finn says, if a mox is to be played in this deck, it is probably chrome mox. The reason is simple: we only play 23 lands so we can't really shave lands...

    Re: [DTB] Death and Taxes

Since in the last part of your article you mention the possibility of playing additional one drops to smooth out the deck, that is becoming a bit clunky due to many 3 drops, i wonder if the new dwarf...

    Re: [DTB] Death and Taxes

I agree with Medea, it's better calling cards by their name (or by understandable abbreviations). Of course, everyone who reads the thread frequently will know about the frank joke, but new users,...

    Re: [DTB] Death and Taxes

I think you have to play 1 banisher priest now that recruiter is available. I know slots are getting extremely tight, but you can't pass up the chance to upgrade your removal from 4 to virtual eight...

    Re: [DTB] Death and Taxes

I think going down to 3 thalia (guardian of thraben) is ok. She is still the best hatebear overall, but we have SO MANY good hatebears right now that playing 4x of a legendary creature isn't worth...

    Re: [DTB] Death and Taxes

Well, i suppose nexus i not that much of a problem when you have 4 wasteland, 4 ports, 4 plows and magus of the moon.
Sudden demise is of course excellent to get rid of any other creature they have...

    Re: [DTB] Death and Taxes

Well, it's also the reason why blue is the best color in any given magic format, even more so in legacy where all best cantrips are legal. Unfortunately is very difficult for decks not playing blue...

    Re: [DTB] Death and Taxes

I don't remember if julian was the first to suggest packmaster (maybe was lemnear) , but julian definitely run him in the pre-cruise era. Packmaster is mainly there as a zenith target that doesn't...

I am really interested in this evolution of the deck (i would be even more interested if recruiters were a reasonably priced card). it seems that recruiter could offer card advantage, especially in...

    Re: [Deck] Death and Taxes

Man, i would suggest playing the deck a lot more and exploring different builds/sideboard option before saying U/R delver is unbeatable. Actually I (and most people) think that it is an even or quite...

Men, there's no need to argue this way over spirit of the lab. Lemnear is being so harsh about the card just because when it was first spoiled, everyone thought it would completely warp legacy....

    Re: [Deck] Death and Taxes

Well, i think the only upside is that, while the effect of godsend is less powerful then sword of fire and ice, it is a bit more broader. It's simply better against every non red non blue creature....

    Re: [Deck] Death and Taxes

Godsend might be in competition with the protection swords , because it basically gives "protection from creatures". It shouldn't target , so a nemesis blocking a creature equipped with godsend...
