Underperformed this weekend at SCG:DC and finished 10-5 with 2x DP, 2x PiF and 0 Ad nauseam.
Lost matches to mentor miracles, soldier stompy, burn and 4c delver twice.
Gonna cut the 2nd DP. Will...
That's what I was trying to say, but I couldn't get the wording correct on my end.
To be fair, there have been tight situations where I had 6 mana in my pool and Tutoring for a win condition against a potential soft counterspell was an option. So in that case, IT or DP is not...
Crack Scalding Tarn, find Underground Sea, cast Ponder, shuffle if you don't see Tutor, Ad Nauseam, Brainstorm or Ponder. Right?
On the play game 1 against an unknown opponent, I would want to...
That's how I feel as well. Disruptive cards that prevent me from chaining cantrips and also double up as clocks are a lot worse than playing against countermagic.
Lately, I have found myself...
I mean, of course I did not test it. But what am I missing about City of Solitude? It costs three to cast and players can only activate abilities and cast spells on their own turns.
I don't think a 3 mana protection spell is a good idea. Xantid Swarm is nice, but I keep on finding that it dies to the removal that my opponent's correctly don't side out. So maybe City of Solitude...
I think the swap is as easy as swapping a Bayou for a Badlands between Pyromancer vs Dark Confidant.
There is a small possibility that people are playing SDT, because I wanted a 5th "tutor" effect that was not Grim Tutor nor Lim Dul's Vault. I won a SCG IQ a few months ago with AnT+1 lone SDT and...
At that point, I think it is better just to have Pyromancer Ascension in the SB if you plan on bringing it in against slower match ups.
That in turn raises the question, would you rather have Dark...
I am not saying to cut Preordains just to have information advantage. I am not counting on winning a tournament because my opponents kept bad hands in the dark.
I dislike Mox Diamond in this...
Plan B: Build up a local reputation in the region as the guy who is 50% on Maverick(or any other midrange strategy) and 50% on AnT.
Therefore you are 50% to have your opponent keeping a bad hand in...
From playing this deck a lot, I have gotten to the point where I almost never write down my storm count on the first few spells.
That is usually enough for a rare free win as you demonstrated.
