    Re: [Primer] Nic Fit

I started testing a Nic fit deck again after 2 years playing Bug midrange/control decks.

    2 underground sea
    2 bayou
    2 tropical island
    4 verdant catacombs
    2 polluted delta
    2 misty rainforest...

    Re: [Primer/Deck] Nic Fit

I played Bug Nic fit for a long time. Usually with 2-3 jaces and winning with Jace (as in the + power) is not really worth trying. It is better to run some other win cons and use Jace as a CA engine....

    Re: [Primer/Deck] Nic Fit

@###### # - I wouldnt run Drs in this deck at all. I dont think it is worth a slot as you rarely gsz for it and drawing it early just turns on the bolt/plow/decay that decks will usually have sitting...

    Re: [Primer/Deck] Nic Fit

When I played bug I played strix/Snap (blue for md force which is why over witness) and no dedicated win con. Jace or the idiot brigade with a couple of Thragtusks and tar pits as well. Its usually...

    Re: [Primer/Deck] Nic Fit

Why did the miracles player have a snapcaster and stp in hand still by the time you are playing titan? That card is the top of his curve so I would guess that other cards were played first and that...

    Re: [Primer/Deck] Nic Fit

@Cliq - I did not run any drs as I barely ever wanted to gsz for him and its not worth the space but some ppl swear by them.

I only ran 2 ponder but I was also playing 4 gitaxian probe last time...

    Re: [Primer/Deck] Nic Fit

Nights whisper is not good enough. Truths is way better. Draw 2 is just not a powerful enough effect to actually play a card to do. Just swap that out.

Unless your meta is super miracles/bug...

Re: [Deck] Team America (Midrange/Control Thread)

I have been testing the Garruk maindeck just so I can see how it plays. I was pleasantly surprised. That card is actually very useful and while even just a wolfblossum is good in many cases if it...

Re: [Deck] Team America (Midrange/Control Thread)

List I played last night was one without anything changed except moving all the hymns to the board and bring in strix/deluge main.

    Current List:
    2 underground sea
    2 bayou
    2 tropical island
    2...

Re: [Deck] Team America (Midrange/Control Thread)

I went 1-2 Drop last night.

Lost to Grixis delver. Flooded out game 1. He had angler and I played jace. I bstormed thinking bouncing really doesnt get me anywhere but actually if I bounce and his...

Re: [Deck] Team America (Midrange/Control Thread)

-Unless someone sees Tnn in game 1 I cant imagine charm or marsh casualties get brought in for strix. Otherwise snap/strix provide value even if they get swept.

    Re: [Primer/Deck] Nic Fit

Honestly deluge is not at its best against eldrazi. Not only are you taking 5 damage but smasher having haste means you will be taking quite a bit. That is why access to a creature that stops most of...

    Re: [Primer/Deck] Nic Fit

If someone was playing Bug and looking for a creature in the board for eldrazi and midrange decks Glissa seems a fine choice.
I thought your point was that creatures that die to dismember are not...

    Re: [Primer/Deck] Nic Fit

Glissa isnt strictly an Eldrazi thing. She can come in against most other midrange decks (Dnt, Shardless, sometimes delver variants, blade). Plus it is 1 slot that turns the Gsz into a super...

Re: [Deck] Team America (Midrange/Control Thread)

    - I am not sure what cards ppl would bring in for Strix. That seems wrong to SB a card for a 1/1 flyer that cantrips. I am not worried about -1 sweepers. Toxic delgue is the only one and that hits...

Come on thread. That emissary card is trash. If you really want that card sylvan ranger is better and even then its just not a good enough card. This is ironic but BUG has the best 2 drop in Baleful...

Re: [Deck] Team America (Midrange/Control Thread)

I am on 2 Ponder. I run 3 snapcaster so I want to keep the options for snaping high. Snap brainstorm is still the most common but ponder isnt terrible as topdeck. Snap is mostly there to provide a...

    Re: [Primer/Deck] Nic Fit

I think if Blue Nic fit has a nice 2 card combo kill that fit it would easily be the best version but none of the options are super appealing.

I actually think of all the variants that white has...

Blue is certainly a way to solve some of those issues. Access to Fow and other hard counters allows the deck to really play the long game effectively. Baleful strix is the best 2 drop for nic fit...

    Re: [Primer/Deck] Nic Fit

My opinion the reason that you are finding Rhino lacking is that the deck is trying to straddle the middle ground like you said. Siege Rhino isnt good enough to be a top end for a ramp deck. If I was...

Re: [Deck] Team America (Midrange/Control Thread)

Running no basics makes the nic fit deck harder to beat. I know you post in that thread as well so I am sure you know a bit from both sides. By running basics you get Fow turned on as a 1 for 1 and...

Re: [Deck] Team America (Midrange/Control Thread)

For reference, when I played an Edric I had 4 drs, 4 goyf, 2-3 strix, 3 snap and 2 Tnn plus the CtP so that is a fair amount of creatures. To be fair I was also playing him before Truths came out. I...
