I think this is working against what the point was. It's meant to protect the key pieces. Think of IOK as a more relevant STP that they don't gain life on, or an Abrupt Decay that only costs one mana...

As the guy who ran the deck, this is not Maverick. It's just SCG being bad at deck names. It's Junk.
I think this very good article should be stickied for now. It's in Spanish, but all you need is a google translator add on.
Stopped reading there. It would be hilarious if it wasn't for the fact of what could happen if a lot of people think like you do.
1. If that's the case then it means it brought 2 decks to the forefront, in contrast with lots saying it's just inhibiting decks. +1 for TNN.
2. I can't believe that's your explanation. Absolutely...
Speaking as someone who wasn't a Legacy player(though interested in the format at that point), most anyone playing BW Rack in Standard at the time, as I was, could look at Goyf and see a perfect...
I have 3 main issues with your data. One is that these decks existed before TNN, so while they got an upgrade for some cards they're not fundamentally different. The second is that some blue decks...
True. And? I think the effect TNN is playing is being overhyped.
Indeed. But like I said, I don't agree with the degree of warping.
My point had less to do with nomenclature and more to do with the fact they're named a certain way because they're the linchpin of the deck. They are not TNN decks.
I disagree with the level of...
5-7? I only remember 2 that were dominating, unless you mean some of which existed before Vengevine was a thing. UG Vengevine and GB(/W?) Vengevine w/ Necrotic Ooze is what I remember dominating....
If that's your point then I'll just disagree with you completely. Should it be your only angle of defense against equipment based decks? Probably not the best way to go about it. But it's definitely...
All of those are a problem for most other spells you'd use, taking a hit from a BSkull isn't the end of the game, and if they're at the point of keeping up 3 mana Disenchant won't do anything either....
Although with respect to Legacy, it might be worth a shot if your meta has a lot of Stoneblade in it since Academy Ruins can be a bitch.
So am I the only one who thinks while this targets (a few) very good and popular cards, that it won't really do much because it doesn't target decks' strategies?
EDIT:
Good card, but to narrow...
Dwayne Johnson as GaRock.
Britney Spears goes bald again for Angel of Despair.
EDIT:
Mr. T as Mr. T.
EDIT:
I pity da foo that gets hit by that lightning bolt! LMAO
Leonin Arbiter
Turn one is the big deal against combo decks imo. You want that turn one discard to slow them down so you can find your bearings, rather than giving them 1-2 turns to one shot you(thinking of storm...
Is Liliana such a problem with Moons and haste creatures?
Edit: Another idea came to me, Hammer of Purphoros?
Why Guerilla Tactics? Why not any of Magma Burst, Murderous Redcap, Flametongue Kavu, or Spitebellows? edit: or Clasm.
Also, have you tried Moltensteel Dragon?
This is funny.
Damn, totally forgot about this.
How'd this end up? How many players, top 8 decklists?
The deck I suggested was using cards that he previously tried out, some of which he is still using. That said, my last edit made it much more token focused. Equipments are good with a bunch of 1/1...
Zealous Persecution should be mainboarded. At least 2 if not 3 or 4. Kills lots in DNT, Maverick, some in ur/x tempo, edit: Nemesis of course, and protects your creatures from golgari charm and...
Dark Confidants just don't survive much, and if they do the life loss can be a big deal against certain decks. If you drop it late in the game it can be real sketchy, and you rarely want to draw...
