Legacy open at our lgs this weekend (full moon games, Feb 24th) and I'll be piloting the following list. I've been playing landstill for a couple of months now and this build feels really good. My...
Well, I for one am a big proponent of lots of basics. But in the end, while looking at this deck with a friend, we both agreed that 2 basics seemed to be just enough. With the number of fetches and...
Well this is the list I will be running this Friday. My local meta has lots of combo decks, and had a couple of miracle players. I expect them to either switch to combo or blade decks, so I'm...
So I have been playing Esper Stoneblade for a few months now and have been enjoying the heck out of it. My only consistant, nagging issue, is my local meta has 2 omni-show decks, and I'm always...
I have tested the list with Recruiters and found that I didn't need all 4. Running 4 cut down on the number of goblins, and I liked having 2 copies of siege-gang (I found it difficult to run more...
I did win a game a few weeks ago against omni tell, where my opponent cast show and tell, I attempted to force it, he countered my force with pact of negation. Show and Tell resolved, he put...
I was running the goblin build at SCG Indy and got destroyed by Nic Fit. My opponent received a game 1 loss for failing to de-sideboard and I still lost two games to him. Granted I had to mulligan...
Both in tournaments and testing, I have found Murderous Redcap to be a very effective card. The surprise factor alone of tutoring up a Murderous Redcap in a legacy tournament is enough to get many...
So I have been looking at this deck for a bit, thinking it would be fun to play. So I sleeved up a list and tried it out at my LGS Legacy FNM. Here is the list that I ran:
4 Deathrite Shaman
4...
I have been personally testing this deck for a few weeks, so I do not have the long term experience that some players have with this deck. I have found, in testing against a variety of decks, that...
I tried sulfur elemental and found out the following problems with it: it doesn't kill revokers that have named "grindstone"; it's useless against other aggro decks that also give me fits (Elves).
...
This is also my plan b with mono-red. I have tested out a singleton beat-stick like siege-gang commander, figure of destiny, and Kargan Dragonlord and have found that they are not necessary.
A lot of of your questions are answered in the Primer.
Bridges are good against a lot of decks, unless you are running the white splash, having 3-4 main deck is needed to ensure you draw them
...
I don't think you are being a dick. I found I learned a lot more on how to properly sideboard and play the deck over the last few months from attending my LGS's weekly legacy tournament and play...
Well I've been playing Mono-red for the last 9 months and have had a lot of success at my LGS these last two months this is my current list:
Deck: Imperial Painter
Counts : 60 main / 15...
In my experience with the deck (mostly mono-red. I gave up playing the white splash a year ago) a turn 1 or 2 blood moon is pretty back breaking for a lot of decks. Most of those decks that lose to...
The primer doesn't specifically address deadguy, but you can sideboard similar to how you would sideboard against a blade / aggro (goblins) deck with a few modifications.
My deck is mono-red, but...
I hasn't really been a problem actually. I think I have mulliganed once when my opening hand had a plains instead of a mountain. Other than that, it's been fine. I was able to cast enlightned...
Well I took RW painter to gencon and tried it out in two tournaments. One was a very small 8 man, the other a decent sized legacy tournament.
In the 8 man I faced: RDW 2/1, BUG 2/1, Omni-Tell ID...
So in light of the comments I cut the Kargan Dragonlord from the main deck, added a spellskite, and cut 1 basic mountain to add an additional great furnace.
So I have been play testing Imperial Painter the last few weeks and I was hoping to take it to gencon. I've followed the discussion on here for a while and I liked the idea of a white splashed...
I would say no. And even if you did want to splash white, would this creature really be better than Dream Stalker who doesn't target? Granted it has flash, but Aluren gives all your creatures flash.
In my opinion, any Standard Player that balks at investment of getting into Legacy needs to break out a calculator and actually add up the dollars spent playing any type of competative Standard deck...
I would agree with this sentiment as well. I am 43 years old. I no longer care if someone dislikes or finds my geekiness a stigma. For the most part, geeky activities have lost a lot of their...
Great list! I have been playing MUD for some months and within the last few weeks have been disillusioned with the increase in hate that everyone is using. This ver. feels like the natural...
