Volrath's is obviously easier to activate since we already run black sources. The only blue sources are Petals and Thespian's Stage copying an opposing blue source.
Keep in mind that Steppe doesn't really count as a mana-producing land (despite it giving you a colorless, essentially) since it comes into play tapped and only taps for white. If you side out Steppe...
How has Chalice out of the sideboard been with so many 1-drops main?
Great point about Ankh. That would work better in a midrange shell.
Are cards like Winter Orb/Ankh of Mishra effective against Lands? I know they tax us as well, but it seems they'd be more brutal for a Lands player and also have implications against decks like...
Is your current list the same as shown in the CFB link above?
edit must've changed a little as I don't see Chalices in that list. Mind sharing?
Actually ran that list last night at my weekly local Legacy event. Only three rounds. I went 2-1 for 3rd place.
Round 1: Junk Nic Fit
Game 1 he basically conceded after giving me 20 life from...
Is Chalice really that good in your maindeck (assuming you are playing it on 1 to stop StP) with so many 1-drops?
You listed Dark Depths twice. :)
Anyway, I really like your list. How hard has it been to cast Canonist out of the board with so few white sources? Also, I never seem to know what to name with...
What's the red (Copperline Gorge) for?
I wouldn't mind seeing this UB list either.
That's exactly what the forest is for. Also, I think the sideboard is supposed to be 2 Clasm/2 Deluge, but for budget purposes he went with 4 Clasm (I did the same, Deluge isn't cheap on MTGO).
Agreed about Karakas. I've relegated it to the sideboard, but even then I wish it was something else half the time. I only bring it as a part of my 75 if I know someone in my meta is playing...
Yeah, I also have the entire deck built substituting Cities for MC and Pyroclasm for Deluge.
Any more testing/results on the original deck or the blue build? I've moved away from this deck lately to give Angel Prison a try, but I wanted to check back in with the group to see if there has...
Have you tested Stifle yet?
Great news. I never had a problem with Delver. My win % is super high against Delver strategies in my advanced testing with the original build. I actually am relieved when I see my opponent drop a T1...
Not yet. I'll probably sleeve it up for this Thursday's event.
Lost to Storm a few times again last night. Still winless against it overall. Probably like 0-30 at this point. Getting comical now. I'm up for anything that lets me beat that deck just once.
I realize that, but after last night I clearly need a boost against Miracles. I've run out of ideas for Storm.
That's what I'm thinking too. I'm not against the inclusion of blue, but I don't like Rituals and Petals. What do you think of Abrupt Decay in the side? Have you had any experience with this?
Interesting list. It seems with the Dark Rituals and Petals you're foregoing the late game, as those are dead draws as the game goes on. I'd definitely add a second Stage. Blue might be something we...
Yeah, I agree, so I think I need to build by board accordingly. That deck fell out of favor when Decay was printed. Going to fit some in my side.
If Miracles remains prevalent in my area I may sideboard some Choke and Abrupt Decay.
