I think the key is using Unmask out of the sideboard. You're ideally only going to need it when your hand is depleted and you need to get things rolling again. Theoretically, this is only plausible...
I think Unmask is something worth revisiting. It was always one of those cards I really wanted to try, but never could fit it in.
If you scroll back to pages upon pages ago, I’ve been a huge advocate of Leyline of Sanctity in this deck. Of course, times change, too. I’m not sure if it’s worth it, but it does blank discard and...
Leyline really isn't that popular in Legacy, honestly. This even after the mulligan change. Cage is another card that has kind of disappeared. Bog is honestly the card I'd be most concerned about,...
Leyline of Sanctity, in my opinion, is the best sideboard card in Manaless Dredge because it nullifies some of the deck's most prolific weaknesses and match-ups collapsed into a single card (Crop...
I think we're not on the same page. Noxious Revival only works as a Bolt when it's discarded with Phantasmagorian and the situation allows for Revival to put it back on top if it was discarded - I...
The overall utility was why it was being tested, not just with Creeping Chill discarded with Phantasmagorian. That's what I was referring to, but it's still a Bolt by itself.
To put Creeping Chill back on top of your deck, dredge it and have your opponent take three more damage. That is a secondary application. Noxious Revival has utility otherwise in Manaless Dredge...
I think if you're running Chill, then playing a full set is fine. I mean, Noxious Revival is a good enough card that it has a wider application and utility than most other cards used in its slot, so...
What's really funny is that Noxious Revival turns into a de facto Lightning Bolt with Creeping Chill.
Could be funny with Noxious Revival.
Pharaoh's stock may be higher again with the anticipated rise of Reanimator.
Grafdigger's Cage is no more than a one-of in almost every sideboard. It augments the Surgical Extraction plan to combat decks like Elves and Zenith/Order. There are four Forces in the deck. I...
Leyline of Sanctity comes in against the following decks and strategies:
1. Discard-centric decks.
2. Burn decks.
3. Storm/Belcher decks.
4. Crop Rotation->Bog decks.
It's going to be so...
1. You want Faerie main. The amount of Reanimator decks you'll see pop up - at first - will be staggering. This includes Loam strategies, as well. If you look at the lists I've played historically, I...
Sorry, I had to change the list. The new list is posted above (edited).
Here's what a Summer of 2018 Manaless Dredge list looks like from me:
Manaless Dredge
[4x] Golgari Grave-Troll
[4x] Stinkweed Imp
[4x] Golgari Thug
[4x] Ichorid
[4x] Nether Shadow
[4x]...
With Deathrite Shaman gone, my interest has once again peaked with this deck. Not that it was really a big deal before, but it put a competitive constraint on Manaless because of the card's ubiquity...
I'm also beginning to wonder if it's time for Vengeful Pharaoh to shine. Sandbagging it and dumping it off Phantasmagorian seems pretty good against Thalia v1.0 and Containment Priest.
That may change given the potential resurgence of Death and Taxes.
The interesting thing about that is that most of the players - very good players - I've ran into don't play Relic in their board. It's always usually Extraction, Cage or Rest in Peace. Relic sees...
For me personally, I've never liked Unmask in that capacity, even though I understand and respect the fact that it can enable faster dredging and protection against a turn-one Deathrite Shaman....
Thanks.
The problem with cards like this is that you need to be able to survive against fast combo long enough to Dread Return it into play. When you're casting Dread Return, you should either be...
My current list:
[4x] Golgari Grave-Troll
[4x] Stinkweed Imp
[4x] Golgari Thug
[4x] Ichorid
[4x] Nether Shadow
[4x] Narcomoeba
[4x] Bridge from Below
[4x] Cabal Therapy
One thing to note though: I would never run three Phantasmagorians unless I'm running Chancellor, too. Otherwise, that stays a four-of.
