  1. Re: Raise, raise, raise. The price of cardboard

They don't need inside info. SCG can sell anything because they have a propaganda machine named Evan Erwin. All they need to do is get Evan to start freaking out claiming this will be the best card...
  2. Re: Raise, raise, raise. The price of cardboard

I've said it before and I'll say it again WoW ccg is just a better designed version of magic. Everything most people hate about magic is eliminated and the only reason that game isn't as successful...
  3. Re: Raise, raise, raise. The price of cardboard

If card supply is that much of a problem the best solution would be for wizards to just institute a rule that allows proxies in legacy at the cost of $2/ proxy with all money going towards prize...
  4. Re: Raise, raise, raise. The price of cardboard

Are you talking about the same wizards that designed zendikar before they decide to make the m10 rules change so now a bunch of zendikar cards are utter garbage thanks to no more damage on the stack?...
  5. Re: Raise, raise, raise. The price of cardboard

The print run of legends was much larger than that of Alpha and Beta. When you add in italian legends there are going to be around 8-10 times as many tabernacle's as A/B bop's. I doubt prices will...
  6. Re: Raise, raise, raise. The price of cardboard

If card values are decreasing naturally it is because demand is decreasing which means the game is dying.

If card values fluctuate as you say then you should accept increased prices on legacy...
  7. Re: Raise, raise, raise. The price of cardboard

That point is an absolute joke.

Why don't all you people who whine about card value increasing just live with that? Card values increasing are much better for the game then card values decreasing....
  8. Re: Raise, raise, raise. The price of cardboard

To be honest the only real way wizards can increase supply is through reprints or promos. Reprints are pretty much out of the question as WotC doesn't want certain legacy staples in newer formats and...
  9. Re: Raise, raise, raise. The price of cardboard

Italian legends isn't really worth opening. A box is like $500+ and if you don't pull a tabernacle or moat you are screwed. If you do hit a tabernacle though you've probably made a profit as you...
  10. Re: Raise, raise, raise. The price of cardboard

I'm not saying that there is no skill in magic, but it is quite evident that wizards is doing a fine job at making the game less skill intensive. Planeswalkers are somewhat simple to use tbh and...
  11. Re: Raise, raise, raise. The price of cardboard

Chess and magic are fundamentally different. Chess is a game of skill while magic is a game of luck. Sure there is skill involved, but luck is a huge factor. Wizards even embraces this as they could...
  12. Re: Raise, raise, raise. The price of cardboard

Who really cares if card prices rise as long as they retain their value. Most other tcg's have $100+ cards when new sets release that will end up being worth $5-10 within a year.

    Also this idea...
  13. Re: Raise, raise, raise. The price of cardboard

That would literally destroy the value of everything. I'm serious. If its not mythic it'll be worthless. Current print runs are absolutely huge and if the cards aren't reprinted to be legal in newer...
  14. Re: Raise, raise, raise. The price of cardboard

I personally enjoy the fact that legacy is perceived as an expensive format. Have you ever played competitive type 2? Most t2 players are not nice people. If you go to a competitive legacy tournament...
  15. Re: Raise, raise, raise. The price of cardboard

I would be furious if wizards reprinted duals or fow's. That being said the only thing they might reprint is duals. FoW and brainstorm will not be reprinted as those cards take away from the luck...
  16. Re: Raise, raise, raise. The price of cardboard

You would have to buy a crazy amount of baneslayers to impact the price. There would also be a certain top end price as it is still in print and eventually everyone would just buy m10 as it would be...
