This is a bit off-topic, but I wonder: if someone concedes so you make Top8 and you end up playing vs them at any point in the Top8, do you let them go first if you are the higher seed?

Not that I like this as a strategical choice at all. But tactically speaking, I think you'd much rather want Cursed Scroll.
