    Re: [Deck] MUD (Metalworker)

So played against dack fayden today, which was a disaster to say the least, hopefully that card doesn't pick up in popularity.

http://sales.starcitygames.com//deckdatabase/displaydeck.php?DeckID=69464 Pretty stock 12 post list, 16th at Portland, sadly I couldn't make it out there today but it's always nice to see people...

    Re: [Deck] MUD (Metalworker)

Well to rephrase my statement I don't really have problems with my creatures getting countered, for the most part. I don't like it when cards like trinisphere and chalice get countered but generally,...

    Re: [Deck] MUD (Metalworker)

There is always slash panther, which while technically not 4 cmc might as well be, and with the 4 batterskull should be fairly easy to mitigate the lifeloss. Also on Karn, it is really impressive in...

Ya I still can't decide if the indestructible and artifact part on darksteel citadel is better or worse than uncounterability from cavern.

    Re: [Deck] MUD (Metalworker)

Ok so I've been playing a pretty stock 12 post list for the past couple days again and have jammed games against some friends on cockatrice and played it in my last local tournament and tested some...

    Re: [Deck] MUD (Metalworker)

Especially with cards like port factory and wasteland you can't really cast much and still attack/block with factories or disrupt their mana (Without Metalworker).

    Re: [Deck] MUD (Metalworker)

http://www.mtgstocks.com/decks/71423 Found this while browsing decklists, looks similar to what a couple people, including myself, have been trying and discussing. Not sure about some of the numbers,...

    Re: [Deck] MUD (Metalworker)

Rug is generally who wins the die roll wins the game. Basically on the draw try to play around daze as much as possible but playing around spell pierce is a losing battle. Chalice for 1 makes the...

    Re: [Deck] MUD (Metalworker)

On Trinisphere it really only functions as a couple timewalks in the deck for the most part. Sure sometimes 1 wasteland can screw a delver player out of the game since they can't find a third land or...

The 12 post lands help reduce dependency on metalworker to cast your expensive spells.

    Re: [Deck] MUD (Metalworker)

Ya I would agree with this, like most of our match ups die roll and opening hand plays a big role. Revoker is really nice at shutting down the equipment, which is usually how they pull ahead and if...

    Re: [Deck] MUD (Metalworker)

I was tired of losing to the die roll, my opponents draw step/hand, and mulligans. I might return to the deck soon but I've been reallly enjoying storm and reanimator lately, and I'm busy trying to...

They can easily bypass your and their own tax effects with aether vial. Now obviously this is a problem chalice solves but only on the play, but we only run 4 chalice (obviously this works both ways...

I phrased the first few lines poorly, we aren't necessarily a combo deck but we are the aggressor.

    Re: [Deck] MUD (Metalworker)

I think you are looking at the match up the wrong way. We aren't the control deck, they are, our role in the match up is as a combo deck. D&t has a hard time dealing with forgemaster for blightsteel...

    Re: [Deck] MUD (Metalworker)

    Re: [Deck] MUD (Metalworker)

One of the reasons I've stopped playing this deck for now is the fact that there is a lot of variance when it comes to a lot of match ups with the deck. Against RUG in my experience it comes down to...

    Re: [Deck] MUD (Metalworker)

Ya in my experience Emperion is better main since it has applications in a lot of match ups while Angel is the better sideboard card.
