    Re: [Deck] MUD (Metalworker)

I used to run it in early 2014 when Jund was a lot more popular to divert punishing fires mainly.

    Re: [Deck] MUD (Metalworker)

That's fair but maybe I just value the added utility more than you and am willing to pay the price. I guess the main reason I'm willing to pay more for that effect is that I'm not really interested...

    Re: [Deck] MUD (Metalworker)

You're right that they can't really be compared because they serve different functions. Staff of Nin, at least in my experience, is there primarily for grindy matchups where the extra cards on a hard...

    Re: [Deck] MUD (Metalworker)

Ya, at the very least you can wasteland targeting itself to save 2 damage. When Playing against Burn Wasteland has always been the second most important land that doesn't just produce mana,...

    Re: [Deck] MUD (Metalworker)

I already run Platinum Angel main and with chalice and trinisphere most combo decks, besides sneak and show and reanimator are already very good. Blightsteel doesn't really help much against those...

    Re: [Deck] MUD (Metalworker)

Well resolving 3 artifacts isn't necessarily a win if it is things like Metalworker (sometimes), grim monolith, even chalice and trinisphere somtimes are pretty low impact.

I'm not a huge fan of...

    Re: [Deck] MUD (Metalworker)

Well given the way you built the deck Forgemaster looks pretty weak since the best card it would get is wurmcoil engine. It can also get staff if you have enough artifacts for the combo but since you...

    Re: [Deck] MUD (Metalworker)

If you are playing goblin welder Wurmcoil is probably just always better because of the ability to constantly flip it in and out of play.

    Re: [Deck] MUD (Metalworker)

I don't think that factory is competing with slots for buried ruin as far as function. The thing with Buried Ruin is that it is very similar to Cavern of Souls. Buried Ruin is better against counter...

    Re: [Deck] MUD (Metalworker)

I have not considered it. 6 mana is a lot for a creature that dies to bolt, and sure batterskull is great but I'd rather just run wurmcoil. Godo is expensive, sometimes it can be hard to get to six...

    Re: [Deck] MUD (Metalworker)

Even though I hate double posting this is probably going to be the only time when I can get this up. Anyway here is the list I have been trying. I haven't tested it much so a lot of this is still...

    Re: [Deck] MUD (Metalworker)

I was talking about using it in a welder shell. I haven't played it a whole lot with it in post variants besides out of the sideboard, even still though kill one creature a turn is still reasonable...

    Re: [Deck] MUD (Metalworker)

Masticore beats pretty much every playable creature in the format. The only exceptions I can think of right now are a giant KotR and TNN or eldrazi. It kills delver, Young pyro and friends, SFM, DRS,...

    Re: [Deck] MUD (Metalworker)

When I first got into legacy with this deck I couldn't afford wastelands at the time so i started with citadel and after playing with both I found I always preferred citadel. Wasteland sometimes...

    Re: [Deck] MUD (Metalworker)

While Ugin is a great printing for the deck I can't see it turning the deck into a Tier 1 contender. MUD has always been an ok choice and there has never been a problem with its power level but the...

    Re: [Deck] MUD (Metalworker)

I think we want both, but I'm not sure. Titan always has the advantage of being an artifact so you can forgemaster for it, though in a direct competition on land vs. other permanents I think...
