    Re: [Deck] Aggro Loam

I'll be honest, I tried for a long time to answer this with a more insightful rationale, but it's as simple as this: I don't think LOTV is very good at the moment. All of the Snapcaster Mage/Baleful...

    Re: [Deck] Aggro Loam

    Pretty much this ^.

You need to mulligan well obviously, but the deck has a high density of permanent based hate that's strong against decks such as ANT. We're a bit of a dog to true turn one...

It's often three, no more are really necessary alongside the sweepers/rest of our removal suite.

    Re: [Deck] Aggro Loam

Swords to Plowshares is something of a 'transformational' sideboard plan. Swords will generally be brought in for games that Chalice is not particularly compelling (Death and Taxes, on the draw vs...

    Re: [Deck] Aggro Loam

I guess some mix of Goyfs, Renegade Ralliers and Tireless Trackers? I consider KOTR as one of the two major reasons to play the deck (along with Chalice), so I don't really think there's a meaningful...

    Re: [Deck] Aggro Loam

Frankly, I can't ever imagine wanting a second Scooze let alone a third. Cards good, but it's pretty resource intensive and though it has enough application to warrant a slot; it's been a while since...

    Re: [Deck] Aggro Loam

You don't think this is a bit of an oversimplification? The Wasteland lock is obviously at a premium here, but they're perfectly capable of killing you with a 3/2 flyer if you only present land...

    Re: [Deck] Aggro Loam

As @Stuhl says, Chalice is still definitely fantastic.

Jamming into easily played around countermagic (such as daze) is not really the approach I'd be taking, as it's just as much of a lock piece...

    Re: [Deck] Aggro Loam

I play Naya pretty much exclusively, and whilst I'm happy with it in the general sense I am not sure how I feel about it with the metagame slowing down into grindy TNN decks. I've recently put Choke...

    Re: [Deck] Aggro Loam

I genuinely believe that if we didn't run Chalice we'd still be pretty favored against your average Delver deck, and therefore I don't think it is as key to the game plan as you seem to be making it...

    Re: [Deck] Aggro Loam

Game two and three I either side Chalice out (on the draw) or only leave two in (on the play). They're scarily capable of functioning through a Chalice, though they're still forced to bring in their...

    Re: [Deck] Aggro Loam

I've found myself bringing in Plow against a great number of decks that don't fit that description, though the most prevalent of them is definitely Grixis Delver. In this matchup in particular I want...

    Re: [Deck] Aggro Loam

I mean, I play both Leyline and Containment Priest so I'm not really making an argument here, though my rationale for Leyline is as follows:

Leyline sures up a wider spectrum of what I call...

    Re: [Deck] Aggro Loam

I hadn't considered three libraries for fear of clunky draws, how has it run for you so far?

The steppe seems pretty cute. I'll give that a go.

    Re: [Deck] Aggro Loam

I've played 4 rounds + a bunch of casual games with it now and I actually really like it. I definitely think that if you have one in your list you want a Horizon Canopy. Being a 2/3 has been pretty...

    Re: [Deck] Aggro Loam

I agree with this. Slaughter Games effects have existed in the sideboard of Loam before, I would say that their role is more to hose than to hit hate cards; I don't believe the deck is vulnerable...

    Re: [Deck] Aggro Loam

How's it gone so far? I came 25th out of 90 players at Australian Eternal Masters last weekend with the list I posted earlier in this thread. Started the day 4-1 and was running really hot, winning...

    Re: [Deck] Aggro Loam

I'm not certain I agree that Canopy is redundant with only a single other cycle land in the deck, it improves the mana of the deck, and has some good application in a list with very few sources of...
