Or Emrakul, specifically - while also being able to cast it (as opposed to Progeny)
I do concede that GSZ->Arbor is something that cannot be matched by Summoner's Pact. I think that getting twice the Nettle Sentinel triggers for Heritage Druid is something GSZ cannot match either....
Technically, it's 1 mana cheaper than GSZ if you're going to win this turn.
So when can we go back to Summoner's Pact?
11.67% is the unlucky number you're looking for. Roughly 1 in 9 games will have a 1-of in your opening 7 card hand. This number is pretty large for what appears to be a small quantity out of 60.

If they have at least 13 life, they don't care about Ruric Thar -- cast S&T, cast EtI, cast Emrakul, take an extra turn, attack and annihilate your board.
Nope. That's why you can Mulligan.
So play Elvish Archdruid...
If you think Seeds of Innocence is fun at 3 mana,
Check out this card:

But really, Viridian Shaman is more than enough to turn that around, as...
You remember wrong. I've always had 4 Cradles!
I also realize my manabase is in the minority of such configurations, so it's pointless to argue with my dissenting view. Hence, I'm talking for the...
Because we're already running 10!!!! fetchlands to find Bayou, including a pair of Bayou. That's >65% of your mana draws.
EDIT: as for the 2nd point, yes it certainly helps and I've conceded that...
I disagree completely with this reasoning. Birchlore Ranger utilizes two elves to generate one mana. Llanowar uses only one. Llanowar Elves and Quirion Ranger provide more explosive mana in the...
Silence
Orim's Chant
I'll have to find the SCG Live game where that plan goes horribly, horribly wrong for the Elf player. It's common knowledge Elves plays discard in the sideboard.
I still maintain that you don't want to have too many "enablers" and not enough density of creatures. This is even more important with Natural Order -> Hoof plan, since you want 3-4 creatures in...
Look back a few pages. I've posted it a few times in the last 2-4 pages.
Thorn of Amethyst
Sphere of Resistance
Thalia, Guardian of Thraben
Glowrider
Lodestone Golem
Feroz's Ban
I play with Joe Lossett (oarsman) on a regular basis both in person and on MTGO. His Miracle deck is quite potent, but still has some limitations that can be exploited. Chief among those is the...
Let's for the sake of simplicity say that Cuneo developed the list and Reid just played it on his advice. I don't agree with Cuneo's SB strategy for this deck. NO/Hoof is a fine strategy, but this...
It's similar to the argument that Delver was the reason old Standard was oppressive. Young Pyro is not the reason he's losing. It's the Stifle/Daze/FoW/Wasteland/Bolt backed by a threat. It could...
I forgot the implied </sarcasm> tag.
My partial maindeck:
1 Viridian Shaman
My sideboard:
3 Abrupt Decay
4 Cabal Therapy
1 Ruric Thar
1 Harmonic Sliver
All that discard is fantastic when OmniTell boards white Leyline against the known discard package; then drops Omniscience off S&T.
The discard is also fantastic against Chalice @ 1 from MUD...
On the other hand, Ruric Thar nullified Delver, which Pro can't. Both are valid in this matchup, and your points add more favor to Progenitus. Very good counter pointers actually.
I run 1 Hoof 1 Regal Force, SB Ruric Thar to increase the density/variety of targets. Vs RUG, for instance, just landing Ruric Thar is enough to win the game, as he's bigger than every creature RUG...
