    Re: Quellblade

Went ahead and bought into MTGO again last night and have been having a lot of success in Tournament Practice (which is to say; I haven't started doing leagues again yet; but will start soon.) I'm...

    Re: [Primer] Maverick 2.0 - GW/x

I just had to say that I found these quotes great haha

I'm surprised all the Miracles are running mentor near you; I haven't been seeing them and assumed that Mentor was deemed unfit for purpose...

    Re: Quellblade

Giant wall of text, it's been a couple years!

I spent a bit brewing in Bant recently and while i initially ran a more tempo'd approach (Noble, VClique, no top end) I ran into a lot of issues...

You mean Lorwyn? You know.. when

came out? Which of course the reason I "reached back" to when they were first printed was, again, because of this claim:

  5. Re: Unplayable Chunderbucket Pile (but with chalice)

Side note: It's actually pretty good anyway against D&T, Lands, and Depths to a lesser degree. I actually keep a couple in my side to GOTCHA depth's players when they tap a Stage for something else...

    Re: The die roll imbalance.

You know, I was thinking that the last time someone handed me it: "Didn't I learn in college that he has a 50% chance of winning while I have a 33%?" but I didn't pipe up. I'm not 100% monty hall...

    Re: Modern Horizons Spoilers

You realize that Mirrodin besieged is like.. 8 years old right? If you're talking about "new design" and it was done in the first printing of planeswalkers then it's just an incorrect assertion. To...

    Re: Modern Horizons Spoilers

I guess. You can still just stifle the second trigger if you're worried about it; I am pretty sure it's actually weaker because you sac your guy before you get the trigger. This means you are paying...
  10. Re: I hate fetchlands! What are the most effective hate for fetchlands in every color

You definitely run Root Maze, Suppression Field, Mox Diamond, Life from the Loam, and possibly Winter Orb if you play out some cheap threats, then have idiot-cards like SpawnWrithe beat your opponent...

    :really:

This is a value judgement and has no place in any discussion. Those discussions that are beholden value judgements cannot be resolved and thus are pointless. Take this to heart and apply...

    Re: Modern Horizons Spoilers

I just realized that it's super strange for them to put "at the beginning of your precombat main phase."

The only reason I could see them doing that instead of upkeep (where things like this...

Re: [Deck] Deadguy Ale (B/w Confidant)

I am a big fan of Blossom. I was the guy telling everyone to run blossom before SDT was banned because it's good and helped trounce miracles. As that guy I have to say that 4 is too many. I was...

Inspecter does seem better. Survives Hope activations, gives you your 1-drops-duders, gives you a (nearly deterministic no less) card to boot. I'd call that an upgrade. I'd still consider dropping...

    Re: AnalRapist

    Quick notes would be:
    - Doomed traveller is bad. I say this as someone who has actually registered copies of Doomed Traveler in lists before. I may have no shame, but I also have no Doomed...

    Re: [Deck] Aluren

I'm trying a funky list on the White-Recruiter version; but I found a neat piece of tech in a 1-of Living Wish I wanted to share. Not only can it protect from your combo pieces being surgical'd; but...

Re: [Deck] Deadguy Ale (B/w Confidant)

Honestly Interrogator could be good enough in DGA if you've got a lot of spare mana (I.E. not running Lingering souls, having no issues with equip mana.) He's CA where Therapist is usually just...

Just call a judge immediately. If the guy grabs his stuff and starts shuffling you can still get him a warning to discourage doing this multiple times in a tournament. Don't lie to the judge and...

    Re: Bant Quellblade

Had a couple not-fires and whatnot and finally got a 3 rounds with ~20 people last night; deck went 3-2 and I think I found the major issue to fix:
    * Noble Hierarch is not DRS

    Now, you may not...

    Re: [Primer] Nic Fit

I don't know; I always liked PrimeTime. I often ran some man-lands so he was like a poor-man's Grave Titan but tutorable (and his gribblies survived terminus/deed.) The other neat thing was just...

I think you're right; it's a super technical MU because the greedy Kolaghan's is worse than Nez if you get the chance. I think I was thinking "I can't win with arbor cause he'll nuke it so I have to...

    Re: 4 Card Blind

It's slightly worse than that. If we race with our 1/1s then I eventually win; because even though I'm behind on life the final turn I get to add 2 damage with factory.
