To quote a wonderful program, "What's a Zune?"
I understand why there are both positive and negative feelings aimed toward Star City. My only point I wish to make in this discussion at this time...
Arbiter is from the Modern Hate Bears style deck. It's GW.
their stock is wiped because it's all at the GP site or packed to move to the GP site. They can charge notably higher to people picking up singles last minute. Their buy prices will possibly drop...
The FTV art that got shown goes to Inferno. How's that for a junk card?
Any guesses on how much further Dark Depths is going to go? Star city is "sold out" at 50 and the cheapest on TCG player is 50.
Cradle has so much casual appeal that it won't plummet from either of those. Unfortunately, cards have a bit of a memory on their price. When was the last time you saw Tabernacle win a big event? ...
Can we get a link to the promos for Duels of the Planeswalker promos source?
I'm just hoping this doesn't end up like the All Foil Shards Packs. Those things were terribly overpriced and that really hurt their sales numbers even though lots of people I know preordered them.
He's never been reprinted that I can think off off hand and he's a rather popular general for EDH.
Green Suns Zenith was also in one of the tournament deck things that they made. It's in the one that didn't have Stoneforge Mystic in it. That also hurt the value of the card.
On a comparison...
Funny thing is that is a quote from a friend of mine who's stuck in a wheelchair. He actually prefers to go by "Wheels" because he doesn't like his given name.
The theory is that there will be something amazing and playable with them from Innistrad...purely on speculators for that one.
With prices as high as they are, I've actually decided to unload the bulk of my "Build books". I'm keeping stuff for dredge (manaless and nonled styles), new horizons, enchantress, and affinity. ...
I'd be rather nervous buying that second one. It looks like a stock photo instead of the one being purchased. Then again, it's ebay so my money would still be safe if it were beat to OMG like that...
Commander decklists are up. No shocklands. A reprint will ding them a lot unless they do the nonsensical thing and make them mythics. If Modern/Overextended gets supported, these could easily hit...
I've played them both in an enchantress shell trying to deck people. Used Words of Wind too. It's pretty bad. I've had lots of people ask to borrow the deck though because they thought it was fun...
You can play unglued tournaments without jeans. Does that count?
On a more real topic...are people really trying to pull off Torpor Orb and Hunted Horror. It seems way too much into the danger...
The ability to find teh color you need with any fetchland would theoretically be built for in a situation like that. We have a full set of fetches to work with alongside the theoretical duals. ...
The current spiking of price is the result of one thing. The popularity of the format. If legacy sucked, then everything would've stayed cheap. Because that isn't the case, the demand for staples...
Minor bone to pick here. Traditionally its the 3rd set that's tricksy to find the high demand stuff for because of the reasons you gave. WWK is special in this regard because ROE is a standalone...
Remember those rumors about the filler between legacy and extended? Maybe they aren't so rumorish after all. The idea is there. The demand for a longer format is there. I think it's going to cap...
They don't "declare" its value. They have people who, I'm guessing, watch ebay and other places along with what people pay from them to determine how much people are willing to pay to acquire said...
Star City had Tombstalker a week ago at 7. They're now sold out at 8. If TA keeps doing well how far is Tombstalker going to go? I'm guessing 15 at the high end.
Their job is to turn a profit, right? By making cards unavailable as their price is AMAZINGLY UNSTABLE, they are able to take advantage of the skyrocketed price. They don't back out on the ones...
My Loyal Retainers is going into my "casual" deck. I have a feeling I'm going to have fun reanimating Captain Sisay.
