Would love to see a pimped NO RUG deck!
Any banning would be inappropriate in todays Legacy.
There's no card too powerful for the format. It's just that some decks are better constructed than they were before, which is amazing.
Now...
To my opinion Legacy has become more of a serious format, where playing skills and card/deck knowledge count more than ever. A proper use of Brainstorm requires a lot of skills, the same with FoW,...
And next month it will be ''Legacy top 16 more diverse than Standard...?''.
We're playing Legacy, not Standard, nor Modern, PERIOD!
People that complain about the format right now, shouldn't...
To my opinion the format has finally become more serious and less one-dimensional after it slowed down a bit. Going to the late game finally matters more, which makes the game by itself more...
@Jona: What about -2 Ponder, +1 Spell Pierce, +1 Sylvan Library main deck? Spell Pierce is even more powerful as a 3-off and Sylvan Library is just nuts on its own. You'd still have enough blue cards...
Terravore is a turn slower than Goyf (3 mana) and requires GG instead of G...
The problem with Grove of the Burnwillows and Punishing Fire is that the combo isn't consistent enough for the deck.
Tombstalker is like your best friend in TA; Bob doesn't even compare and doesn't fit in the strategy at all. I also wouldn't recommend cutting Stifle for Mental Misstep, ever.
Playing Misstep...
@ Tom T:
Please take a look at my 'Mental Misstep' list on page 98. I don't think it can get any better for a Supreme Blue build...Misstep is there to protect Lavamancer, Clique or Goyf, to...
I think some decks will really benefit from Mental Misstep and can easily find room for it in their maindeck (for example: some blue decks by cutting Spell Snare if it already was maindecked), while...
Any thoughts on the new Mental Misstep? It seems like the card has great potentional for 4-colored Supreme Blue builds to run it over Spell Snare in the maindeck.
It's especially great against...
I think it's a wrong thought to play Misstep only to be able to counter an opposing Misstep. If everybody would think that way, it would mess up the consistency of many decks. Just accept that...
Agreed. In fact it's only really great for decks that have serious problems with some specific one-drops in Legacy; otherwise it isn't as great as many people think it is.
This could easily...
This could easily replace Spell Snare in Supreme Blue Countertop builds as a 2-off, with 2 more in the board. It would be sick, if only to protect Lavamancer from dying to a Swords, Bolt or Path...
So, what do you guys think about the new Mental Misstep? It's finally a real answer to Vial, as well to Stifle, Lackey and Hierarch.
Especially Vial and Stifle were really problematic cards for us...
It will be nuts in the sideboard of 4-colored Supreme Blue/Intuition Countertop builds, basically the shore up their Vial matchups by a mile.
I think it's the card recent Countertop decks have...
@Bignasty197
Congrats!!!!
Love the list.
Do NO and Jace go well in the same deck?
Then you'll get something like this:
2 Grove of the Burnwillows
3 Volcanic Island
1 Mountain
2 Island
3 Tropical Island
2 Tundra
1 Academy Ruins
4 Scalding Tarn
Collar can easily get replaced by Pithing Needle.
The thing is that you'll need something against Midrange (KotR/Terravore) in the board, so it's either a single Collar or some number of Gilded...
3 Grove of the Burnwillows
1 Academy Ruins
3 Volcanic Island
1 Mountain
2 Island
4 Tropical Island
4 Scalding Tarn
4 Misty Rainforest
4 Tarmogoyf
Red seems like it has become very, very important for Intuition Countertop, particularly because of the rise in popularity of MUD and Affinity decks and of course because of the Goblin matchup.
...
There isn't a new King of Legacy as long as Wizards doesn't print a new card (like Goyf) that will change the whole format without getting a ban. The rest of the now amazing and 'broken' cards will...
Which 'lists' do you mean? Cause, there's only one Thopter list with Intuitions, made by Frid. Intuition is a hate or love card; some players don't like it or don't know how to play it (they find it...
I haven't been able to playtest Sacher's list, but 1 Scryb Ranger, 1 Fauna Shaman, a 2nth Arbor and a 4th NO doesn't sound right to me. Instead of focusing too much on powering out the combo, you'd...
