    Re: Commander 2019 Spoilers

No, oracle text on gatherer is:

"Spend only black mana on X.
Drain Life deals X damage to any target. You gain life equal to the damage dealt, but not more life than the player's life total...

    Re: Commander 2019 Spoilers

Anje Falkenrath seems sweet with basking rootwalla and vengevine (though it's unfortunate it doesn't untap when you discard vine).

    Re: [Deck] Zombardment

I took Qweerios' list from here to a local proxy legacy event on Monday and went 2-1. It was my first time playing zombardment in an event, and I had a lot of fun!

    Round 1: Zombie tribal

    Re: War of the Spark

Hmm...I wonder if finale of promise is playable by itself in grixis control or something. Its upside is comparable to snapcaster, possibly even better, since instead of a 2/1 you get to flash back...

    Re: War of the Spark

Judith is way better than mayhem devil in zombardment and she isn’t even good there. Both are quite win-more. If you’re able to activate goblin bomardment multiple times you probably win.

    Re: War of the Spark

Eternal witness is kinda nice, you can t2 evolution into ewit and then next turn evolution your ewit into dark-dwellers and get a 7-drop (if you're playing one)

Edit: Veteran explorer is also an...

Niv-Mizzet, Parun seems pretty good if you're getting a 6-drop. There's also tombstalker -> iona and tasigur -> elesh norn

Welder is pretty good with dack too if you’re on the liquimetal coating plan. It’s also decent with coating itself.

    Re: War of the Spark

Pithing needle is an old card and it also makes an exception for mana abilities. It just depends on the card. (I think in this case, wizards thought it wouldn’t be as annoying in standard because of...

    Re: War of the Spark

Maybe you could play flux channeler in that deck too. Pentad prism and ballista seem like things a thopter/sword deck is interested in.

Re: Mausoleum Secrets / Oath of Ghouls Midrange

I only played a couple of games with this deck, but what do you guys think of a sword of light and shadow (with or without stoneforge)? It gains us life we can use to loop street wraith, acts like an...

    Re: GB Vengevine

@FTW Ok, that makes sense actually. For now I’m really liking the 15th land and gravecrawler and bloodghast are great, so I’ll see if I miss lotleth troll.

    @Mr Safety You’re basically playing a...

    Re: GB Vengevine

What matchups is lotleth troll good against? I've had the most success with it against decks like grixis control, where they have a hard time killing it if it regenerates. Problem is, I just don't...

    Re: GB Vengevine

With gamble in the deck, we can play tutor targets in the sideboard: big game hunter maybe can go to 1 copy, and asylum visitor, coffin purge, and ancient grudge are all good to have access to.

    Re: GB Vengevine

I cut 3 lotleth troll and 1 carrion feeder (was running 3 of each). Because the deck can more consistently go off by turn 2 now, I didn't feel the need for slower, grindier cards. Lotleth troll has...

The more I think about it, the more I like gamble. It gets discarders if you need one, it gets rootwalla for vengevine, it gets gravecrawler/bloodghast for amalgam and it gets vengevine to just put...

    Re: GB Vengevine

Yeah, I think there's just such a high variance with this deck that we can beat or lose to almost any deck.

Yeah that's still definitely a thing, but I still only have about a 50% winrate in mtgo tournament practice with it. Again, I might just be playing it wrong, but idk

    Re: GB Vengevine
