This was more or less my logic as well. It's also why I'm using Portal Wood Elves instead of foil Seventh - I just like the look of the Portal one more.

They're "blank spots" on the printing sheet. As it says, they're supposed to be destroyed after the sheet is cut up, but a couple slip out every year. AFAIK they're pretty rare and worth something...

Aren't signed cards usually worth less than unsigned versions? Especially if the artist draws on them.

IIRC they were tests for potential new card frames for the 8th Edition frame switch. R&D had batches printed up so that people could see and play with them.

These frames ultimately ended up not...

It's less pimp than the English versions of the card, which actually had a smaller print run and are therefore both harder to find and more expensive.

If he REALLY wanted to ugly pimp, he'd use acetone or something to remove the ink from the border of the cards, thereby making them all white-bordered.

This. The best are the old promo Duress (not the FNM ones) - you can't get them foreign, but they're foil and in the old card frame.
