I've got an Invention Gearhulk (American) in one of my EDH decks and haven't had issues with it...but the deck is also double sleeved and kept in a fairly tight box, so that might help too.

What you're looking at is a "feature" of beta cards. You'd be hard pressed to find one without that look near the corners.

Non-English cards don't really do it for me...but jesus rollerblading christ is that deck beautiful.
