Sick birthday present. Sorry I was so depressing all weekend, but it was good to meet you!
Heh. I lent the 75 out. That was what I had been playing lately, just +1 Tarmogoyf +1 Spell Pierce, -1 Sylvan Library, -1 Dismember. Didn't feel like playing RUG for the Invitational so I played...
Admittedly I was new to the archetype (as in, played it when I first started in 2009 for a couple of weeks and never again), but I felt it was a good plan against the Deathrite decks + the left field...
That list looks beautiful, doesn't it
I think he's pretty good from the impact he can have if left untouched. He's not a tutor target, he's a 3-of. I also played Goblins at the Invitational, but Mono Red, finishing 3-1 in Legacy on Day 1...
Pretty lame, guy kept a loose hand and should have been punished. No justice
EDIT: Saw opponent's hand for g3. Congrats, Bryant!
I postulated that there was some type of repetition mistake, so I looked for the only 3 cards that matched the maindeck and sideboard. I arrived at cutting 2 Lingering Souls and 1 Thoughtseize to...
You were the first to identify me
I was able to run it back with Geist against at the Columbus PTQ last weekend, with a dramatically changed list and some technology from Larry Swasey....
Hey guys,
This report is a little over due, but I made Top 8 of the Garden City, MI PTQ on February 9th piloting UWr Geist.
I summarize my thoughts on the individual parts of the deck. Feedback...
I tested against RG Tron with this deck last night. The one glimmer of hope is that it gets much better with more disruption than your burn post-board, so that's definitely a positive going forward....
I actually like the minimalistic approach, so I have an all-black boring playmat (Source one is getting torn up a little ). Basic logic chain:
Pins ==> Throw into drawer
Playmats ==> Is...
Geez, guys, don't you play Standard?
In all of honesty, it took me a whole to realize the same thing with Restoration Angel too.
Staticaster seems pretty insane, actually. Might be...
Yeah, yeah...
Just can't find a comfortable configuration. Basically flunking out of Legacy right now, it's unreal when the last time I experienced a good tournament in this format was.
I've never seen an Affinity deck beat a resolved Energy Flux but the card is fairly narrow. I think Deed would be more versatile as you can bring it in for a variety of matchups.
Dear god, please. Just picked up Sinkholes today.
Haven't seen a ton of Maverick (Thalia, Mother, Elspeth) or Timely Reinforcements, might be reasonable to just let Engineered Plague overlap for now. Not sure how good Dread of Night is at the...
Chancellor is as good as advertised. I have the deck in paper (and Dan online) and we're sort of trading off a little bit each week, keeping the local metagame honest against either of us. It's a DR...
Link?
Congrats on the awesome finish, Dan.
Was very happy to see your name in Top 8.
Ooze does have the added bonus of fighting opposing Deathrite Shamans, as realistic or unrealistic as it seems to reach that scenario.
The plan of both Mongoose/Lavamancer pre-board into boarding...
Was actually going to attend the same tournament as wcm8, but had a last minute trip to GP Atlantic City.
I was thinking on the car ride, however, what is an optimal way to balance: (1) Mongoose...
Flusterstorm will probably make another appearance in the sideboard. Some of the games I lost were mulligans where I'd board in 6 1cc counters and open a hand with 4 lands, Goyf, Bolt, Mongoose, and...
Congrats on the finish, Jason.
I went SCG Columbus this weekend and played the list I suggested a couple of pages back with the following sideboard:
3 Submerge
2 Rough/Tumble
2 Sulfur...
It will only trigger once.
And Standard. Seeing plenty of play in the UWr Midrange deck.
