Re: [Deck] TinFins 3: Return of the Onion Burst

Great idea Jblinder. As soon as I saw people using buried alive with the Phoenix it seemed natural to try to combine it with reanimation strategies.

    Re: [DTB] Turbo Depths

Knight would lead more towards a slightly slower Junk Depths kind of list. Could even have Solemnity as a 1 or 2 of at that point for resiliency. But losing the Turbo speed is a big downside.

If you don't see sneak you can definitely take the containment priests out of board for some more planeswalkers too.

    Re: [Deck] Aggro Loam

Library is certainly great, and I can see wanting 2 in the main deck but I still feel like Bob is key to how the deck flows. He helps you find your answers in combo matchups, and even if he often...

    Re: [Deck] Aggro Loam

You found it light on card advantage but want to cut bobs? Bob is a key engine for this deck. Just play an extra trophy/Vindicate if you want more answers to Gurmag. I also think the Karakas is key...

Toxic Deluge is usually the recommended SB replacement without Tabernacle.
  8. Re: RGStuff By the creator of bigdrazi and dark depth

Slowly picking up the cards I'm missing for this deck (NO, Primetime, Dragon, Titania) just so I can play this sometimes on a break from Loam. Why is Dragonlord one of the go to NO targets? Because...

    Re: [Deck] Aggro Loam

I picked one up and an Ajani Vengeant for the SB as I've never tried that before either. Will probably grab a Nissa VF as well to try in Garruk Relentless spot.

    Re: [Deck] Aggro Loam

Bob was playing 1 maindeck as an extra creature and card advantage engine. I've never played with any Monarch cards before but it does seem strong. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/313453309

    Re: [DTB] Turbo Depths

I think Mox Diamond makes a lot of sense with a high land count, but I agree that I don't see why you wouldn't squeak in 1-2x Loam in somewhere. He's clearly having some success playing for the...

Which decks does David Long side in the GSZ package against? Control decks with answers to ML I guess? Miracles/DnT/Grixis?

Grim Lavamancer could be worth a slot or 2 as another 1 drop and extra clock.

Re: [Deck] TinFins 3: Return of the Onion Burst

Yeah that's fair re: Gamble and Looting. Gamble has more built in variance in it's effectiveness, where Looting is more consistent but a bit less powerful. I think I will test 2 Gamble 2 Unburial...

Re: [Deck] TinFins 3: Return of the Onion Burst

In a Burning Wish list like that with LED, I kind of like 2x Gamble better main deck than the 2x Faithless Lootings. A lot of hands are just missing an LED or a Grisel in the yard to be explosive. ...

Nice results! I'm going to watch the VOD today, thanks for the link.

  21. Re: Bizarro Stormy (or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Griselbrand)

Thanks for answering all my stupid questions!

I was thinking of the Helm+RiP/Leyline situation but I guess your opponent just dies on their draw step, not to the Helm itself. Or is it because Helm...
  22. Re: Bizarro Stormy (or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Griselbrand)

Oh yeah I had the win once I did the 2nd magus activation, I was just worried that exiling more cards than your library would be a loss like drawing. Glad to hear it doesn't work like that.
  23. Re: Bizarro Stormy (or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Griselbrand)

Finally read through the whole thread, lots of great discussions.

Started gold-fishing a bit last night. Magus sure is nuts once you can get him going for ~8-10 cards. I realized you need to be...
  24. Re: Bizarro Stormy (or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Griselbrand)

Thanks for the explanations guys. Appreciate it. I'm drawn to BW because I started on Burning Reanimator a few years ago. But I agree that I should play "stock" bizarro first.

    I feel like the 4th...
  25. Re: Bizarro Stormy (or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Griselbrand)

Thanks again! Great work on the primer, very informative.

I'm leaning towards trying the Burning Wish variant as I think it gives you some nice lines to just storm off with a Shallow grave'd...
