Yeah i assumed as much. Also the fact that its a 1/1 and thus doesnt really clock makes it too janky imo. If it was a 2/1 or 2/2 things would be a little different i think.

So what about spellseeker. I know the guy is janky as hell but it allows us to find many of our otherwise 1 or 2 of spells (decay, edict, pfire, rise/fall i think). Again i know its jank + but maybe...
