Has anyone tried Grim Lavamancer? Seems like a beautiful answer to Goblins and Merfolk. A bit asynergistic with Spout but still strong.

I went back up to 3 Spell Snare
EDIT: Moved to previous post.
For a 22nd land, what do you think would be best - another blue fetch or a Trop? I'm not playing a Mountain, it really doesn't seem worth it - Forest and Plains just do much more. Firespout is often...
Have been playing around with 4-color Jace since the Grand Prix. I like the deck, and I'm trying out a few changes to my previous version, including a couple new singletons - and CounterTop is one of...
This is my list of CB-top depths
// Lands
4 [CS] Dark Depths
3 [ON] Flooded Strand
4 [ON] Polluted Delta
1 [P3] Island (2)
1 [PT] Swamp (4)
2 [SHM] Sunken Ruins
...
Coatl is definitely subpar - he doesn't have a large immediate board impact without a Brainstorm in hand, and he's worse than RWM against aggro.
I'd prefer more general aggro hate that can also...
I'd stick with 4 Daze in more aggressive builds, such as NO Bant, but 3 in decks like Supreme Blue.
I love Engineered explosives, and would definitely put it in any Supreme Blue maindeck.
I really dislike War Monk out of 3-color lists, as I think it's just really greedy.
I do like the idea of having a big, hard-to-kill finisher, but Goyf and V. Clique have worked out well so far in...
I really don't think double-colored cards belong in 4-color counterTop - which is why I stick with either my own version of UWGR or play UWG w. NO.
I'm used to playing Supreme Blue variants and Canadian Threshold, but I feel like trying something new. Here's my list of ProBant:
4 Misty Rainforest
4 Flooded Strand
4 Tropical Island
3 Tundra...
Have a look at my list:
4 M. Rainforest
2 Scalding Tarn
1 Polluted Delta
1 Flooded Strand
2 Tropical Island
3 Volcanic Island
3 Tundra
2 Island
Paulo Vitor Damo da Rosa (big name Brazilian player) is playing Supreme Blue, Brazil's doing quite well.
If you're looking for versatile cards that serve as efficient threats, Elspeth and...
Yes, play 2 Island and 1 Forest, with 4 Misty Rainforest.
Wing Shards is bad.
Thanks a lot. I've made the same maindeck changes. My sideboard has 2 open slots (-2 Spell Snare, as one went into the main), which I'm definitely going to devote to the aggro matchup; I'm thinking...
Seems like a good idea - I'll try it out. It also makes room in the sideboard.
The reason I go heavy control is because the deck plays the control role in the vast majority of matchups. And yes, I...
There's absolutely no stax in my meta. I played against combo round 1, you can read how it played out. You really don't need to drop a beater until later; spend time setting yourself up with answers,...
My list of CounterTop from Dream Wizards 10 Proxy 11/7
Will Alston - 7th place
4 Misty Rainforest
2 Scalding Tarn
1 Polluted Delta
1 Flooded Strand
2 Island
1 Forest
2 Tropical Island
This format has so many aggressive decks that I think running at least 3 maindeck explosives and/or firespout is necessary. I think you need at least 4 of these effects as you have no swords.
Fire//Ice is more flexible and isn't COMPLETELY dead in certain matchups. I'm loving EE, and it's saved my butt more than a few times against things like Landstill. Not to mention there's a maindeck...
My latest list, tweaked for my local meta full of Merfolk
3 Misty Rainforest
3 Flooded Strand
2 Polluted Delta
3 Volcanic Island
3 Tropical Island
3 Tundra
2 Island
1 Academy Ruins
Bob is great, but red has proved better for me. I play 2 MD and 1 SB Threads of Disloyalty, ridiculous against Bob builds as well as against Zoo.
The thing is, at about the same time the new restricted list will go into effect, which will result in an increase in combo, if only by a small amount. Merfolk is well-known for handling combo well,...
Yeah, Merfolk are easy if you have red. I'm not maindecking Spouts but rather Explosives and Threads, but 3 sideboarded spouts and 4 REBs.
