@and3h: You probably don't want Stifle in this (global) meta. You'd probably be better served splitting that as some number of maindeck Therapies and other value spells. I might suggest 2 Therapy, 1...

Lead with Deathrite. The tempo you're losing can be relevant but you can also pick up a lot more tempo by following Deathrite with more mana-intensive plays, mostly involving Young Pyromancer....
This is my primary concern with it: it doesn't kill x/2s, and there are some very good x/2s.
But I think you're underestimating instant speed. Mom basically blanks Forked Bolt, but Dual Shot opens...
The full spoiler is up, what do you guys think?
The first thing I see is:

LOL, I was gonna say, why even bother with this Jace when you can play JTMS??
If you are playing Stifle, don't forget that you can use it as a hard counterspell for Ancestral Vision. There are two separate triggered abilities wrapped into the Suspend ability: one is to remove...
I'm a big advocate for Stifle. I know it's never truly dead. It's just very bad against that deck. Like, all the things you listed are ways of getting some value out of it, but they're all bad, with...
I've only played two rounds of this matchup. Once I was on the Grixis side, the other I was on the Eldrazi side. It's not a large sample size, but here's my observations as to what I think Grixis...
I'm snipping the rest to focus on this specific question.
Young Pyromancer generates value by building up board position with every instant/sorcery cast. It goes wide.
Thing in the Ice amasses...
It also returns your flipped Delvers and Delved Gurmag Anglers.
I guess there's the argument of, "Who cares? You have a 7/8 and they have no blockers." But you'll care when they Maze it, or Swords...
This card is getting a lot of hype. I don't like it at all.
I suppose it's in the realm of "warrants testing," but I'd personally rather not, if possible. I intensely dislike this card.
First of all, welcome to the best format in Magic.
1. Grixis Delver is a skill-intensive deck. By that, I don't mean that you have to be a pro to play it, but you may experience an early lack of...
@Agrippa91 how has Invasive Surgery been in testing? Is the Delirium hard to turn on? Is the Envelop effect enough on its own?
Well, all I can tell you is my experience, and my experience has been the exact opposite of theirs. I hold Stifles for Storm triggers very often and I haven't dropped a match to Storm with Stifles in...
@Manipulato, sorry for getting you confused with a n00b. I wasn't sure who it was that started this whole debate. I didn't mean that question to sound condescending but I realized that it probably...
Sorry, but I couldn't disagree more. Stifle trumps their entire strategy so they have to play around it. If that means they're going for PiF, then your Extractions (which you should have post-board)...
You're right in that there aren't a lot of ways to deal with a Goyf outside of counterspells, but Angler will be larger than Goyf in most circumstances, and even comes built-in with Delve which...
Not at all - several players have had success with Stifle-free builds. The first that comes to mind is Dylan Donegan, who narrowly missed the Top 8 of the relatively recent DC Open with such a...
Regarding Therapies over Stifles: I've done this before, when I was playing Abbot of Keral Keep. It works out fine. It's strictly a metagame call. I think you'll find plenty of success by swapping...
Having played a list where I swapped a Probe for a single Pierce, I'll tell you, I now play 2 copies main. I was almost always happy to see it. It did a lot more work than a Forked Bolt would have....
Dread of Night might be fine, but they're all playing Serra Avenger now so it's not the lock piece it used to be. Sulfur Elemental is right out. All the D&T lists are playing Mirran Crusaders...
Here's what I'm sleeving up tonight:
4 Delver of Secrets
4 Deathrite Shaman
4 Young Pyromancer
1 True-Name Nemesis
4 Brainstorm
4 Ponder
To be fair, you did say they can't beat it. Bit of hyperbole. However, that's an angle I'd forgotten about. I've considered both Bitterblossom and, as terrible as it might sound, Goblin Assault for...
Is it bad that I want to try to use Frenetic Efreet against Miracles? I can't tell if I'm retarded or not. I feel like I am.
Some context, I'm trying to find some effective threats to use against...
I've played with the UR Prowess build a couple of times, and the raw card advantage is really big there. It's why UR was the list of choice during the Cruise Delver era, and then when Dig blew up,...
