Also can just keep a fatty in hand. Blazing Archon in the board is wonderful for this matchup.

Agreed. This is also the reason I play the white splash.
Glad i'm not the only one who thinks the white splash is superior to the green splash.
I had never considered cutting Chancellor before seeing that guide, and I haven't faced D&T yet online to try it out, but in theory I like at least trimming down on them for other threats that are...
Brutality is excellent in the matchup. You can drop Unmasks to make room.
Seems to me like Children of Korlis would make your mulligans worse and also it feels like a win-more card to me.
Serum Powder also seems like a trap to me. I feel like that card never actually...
Like i said, the green cards are individually better at removing a specific target than Wear/Tear is, but I think the flexibility and compactness (both in taking up room in your SB and in taking up...
Personally, I think the green splash is bad. It takes up too many slots in your board and the cards (while independently better than Wear/Tear) are not as flexible as Wear/Tear.
Thanks for posting that link - I hadn't seen it yet. He has some interesting points I'd like to try out. And also no problem!
No problem! best of luck
GP Louisville: BRw Reanimator (10-5)
Mainboard:
2 Sire of Insanity
4 Chancellor of the Annex
4 Griselbrand
1 Tidespout Tyrant
4 Lotus Petal
4 Dark Ritual
@Jeff I don't think there's anything wrong with continuing to innovate, so no harm no foul. Though I personally see this deck as something like dredge of old, where it would spike any tournament...
I mean if they have the extraction they're going to do it anyway, so I'd rather they do it when I don't have a reanimation spell on the stack (unless it's exhume + multiple fatties). If I can lead...
All this hate for Faithless Looting is baffling to me - I've found that a castable looting in my opening hand is the difference between a terrible hand (mulligan) and a good-to-great hand.
This weekend I'll write up a quick tournament report from the GP as well as a decklist and my sideboarding guide. I am on the white splash for my sideboard.
Thanks man!!
@Venomous I played against leyline a multiple times and won through it. Love the white splash. I'll post more later this week with my full deck list and a quick write up.
I typically sandbag my unmasks until the turn i'm going off UNLESS i'm playing against a deck that plays cards that can hose me beforehand(Rest in Peace, Grafdigger's Cage, Deathrite Shaman if i...
I almost always keep my ratios exactly the same as my main board (11 creatures, 11 reanimation, 8 discard or "answers"). So if I'm bringing in brutality and I'm playing vs a blue deck (delver,...
Unmask - best against blue permission decks (fow, daze, flusterstorm, etc.)
Thoughtseize - best against permanent hate (chalice, thorn, counterbalance, etc.)
Collective Brutality - slowest of the 3...
What were the two irrelevant cards? I'm not sure you took the correct line there.
Those of you on the green splash - have you tried carpet of flowers to help with the Grixis Delver matchup?
I've personally switched off the green splash and prefer the more compact white splash,...
Agreed. How did your triple grave titan testing go?
100% agreed. That's my only concern going into Louisville is that the meta will have already adapted and switched to Surgical/Faerie.
Tell them "No, it's not fun, and it's a terrible deck. Don't play it at GP Louisville." hahaha
This has been my experience as well, which is why I am leaning more and more toward the white splash (though to be honest i have not tested it yet), since it takes up fewer sideboard slots.
Nice work helping pioneer the archetype. I was hoping to find 'jeffderek' on here somewhere.
Per your discussion on Miracles: I also think that going fast is the best way to handle the matchup....
