    Re: War of the Spark

If nothing else, resurrecting Urza and Mishra is something they could tap into when they run out of other ideas.

    Re: [Primer] Maverick 2.0 - GW/x

It's all good, I'm perfectly fine with the criticism. It's an untested brew. I just thought Weathered Weathered was an incredibly strong card that can tutor up both pieces of the combo itself, and...

    Re: [Primer] Maverick 2.0 - GW/x

Yeah, the plan for my list is definitely to make a 20/20, facilitated in a Maverick shell. The deck gives up a bit of speed compared to a normal Turbo Depths list, but makes up for it with a...

    Re: [Primer] Maverick 2.0 - GW/x

I haven't play tested it at all, but this was where I left off when I was developing a Depths list:

    GW Maverick Depths

    Lands (28)
    4 Windswept Heath
    1 Verdant Catacombs
    1 Marsh Flats
    4...

Being better than, and being strictly better than, are not the same thing.

Re: [Primer] Eldrazi Post Colorless Eldrazi Ramp

I'm actually on more of a midrange list these days...

    Midrange Eldrazi

    Lands (26)
    4 Ancient Tomb
    4 Cloudpost
    4 Glimmerpost
    3 Vesuva
    3 Eye of Ugin

    Re: War of the Spark

That card seems sweet. Deals with Marit Lage and Gurmag Angler with the bounce, or kills most things. Seems pretty versatile, and I could definitely see it finding a spot in some sideboards.

    Re: War of the Spark

Huh? The cost in the picture is 1UU...?

Doesn't defend itself, sure, but a deck like Miracles or Grixis Control has more than enough ways to protect their Planeswalkers.

    Card also seems pretty...

    Re: War of the Spark

Holy shit. It's Leovold on a mono blue Planeswalker with an activated ability of a flipped Azcanta? I'd say that's a pretty insane card that will absolutely see Legacy play.

    Re: War of the Spark

Seems worse than the standard Necrotic Ooze combo with Phyrexian Devourer and Triskelion.

Re: Ensnaring Bridge in the Antiquities War Deck

I like this approach quite a bit, but I'd personally drop the Mages (Trinket and Trophy) for Etherium Sculptor and Faerie Mechanist. Might be worse overall, but it definitely plays better with the...

    Re: War of the Spark

This is definitely the highest power level set that we've had in a while. Multiple Legacy playables plus a ton of cool fringe stuff that might see some play.

    Re: War of the Spark

Sinking Feeling was the closest I found to turning this into an engine. Unfortunately, it doesn't go infinite because it costs 1 to activate.

    Re: Nourishing Lichless Combo

Oh, oops. I misread what he said. I thought he was saying that Borbory was bad because it needed to attack. My apologies.

    Re: War of the Spark

Might also be decent in Burn as a 3 mana flashback Lightning Bolt and Lava Spike to deal 6 to an opponent. Probably just worse than their existing 3 mana options like Risk Factor, though.

Why would you need to attack with Borbory to win? You just need to discard 7 lands...

    Re: War of the Spark

4 mana for Gideon + 4 mana to copy + 3 mana for Displacer + 3 mana to Flicker, so that you can pop out +1/+1 emblems? Meh.

Sticky: Re: What Should I Play In My Metagame?

0 combo decks? Kind of looks like a good meta for Burn. Or any deck that preys on fair decks, basically.

    Re: War of the Spark

The fact that it can copy a legendary but won't be legendary itself is a very interesting effect. I'm curious if there is some sort of way to abuse that part.

    Re: War of the Spark

Worldspine Wurm is most likely an instant kill too, except it's actually good on it's own off of a Sneak or Through the Breach, whereas Master of Cruelties is crap without Ilharg.

    EDIT: Actually,...

    Re: War of the Spark

The benefit to this would be postboard, after the opponent has cut their removal. It dodges Flusterstorm, Spell Pierce, Pithing Needle, etc. Doubtful that it's better than Arcane Artisan, but still.

    Re: War of the Spark

Maybe it would work in Modern, but it's a five mana green instant. Even in Nic Fit, I'm not sure why this would be Legacy playable.

    Re: [DTB] Death and Taxes

The challenge is that he would cost 4 with a Thalia in play, and cannot be cast off of AEther Vial. Is that really any better than Vryn Wingmare?

    Re: War of the Spark

Seems pretty good against Miracles. Being blue means it eats it to red blasts, though.

Might be a card for Buried Phoenix?
