    Re: Oracle/Shift combo (brewing)

Initial stuff I've noticed playtesting it:

    1. Sequencing/lines can be surprisingly tough sometimes, but Lim-Dul's Vault is fire. There's definitely more of a learning curve to it than it looks to...

    Oracle/Shift combo (brewing)

Been testing a few different shells for Thassa's Oracle and Paradigm Shift, and this one has been doing pretty well. Not amazing, but it's winning most matches online, it's fun, and I think there's...

    Re: DarkDepth-Hogaak

Been testing this a bunch, and think it has a ton of potential.

-1 Satyr (now down to a single copy)
    +1 Dryad Arbor

...has been a huge improvement for me. The ability to fetch a green...

    Planeswalkers are Legendary, now?

    From this page.

"Starting with this set, all planeswalkers past, present, and future will have the supertype legendary. They will also be subject to the "legend rule." The "planeswalker uniqueness...

    Re: Smash-Trap (RBG-mid)

Yeah, had an earlier version using Force. Seemed good, but ultimately wasn't as good as another grix list. Wanted to build this as a non-blue list I'd be excited about.

    Re: Smash-Trap (RBG-mid)

Had an earlier version with Hymn that didn't work, but Therapy might be nice since I've got YP. Fireblast would be wonderful if I could support it.

    Smash-Trap (Jund-mid thing)

    Brewed this up.

Looks a little janky, but it's been a ton of fun and I think there's potential in a build like this. Needlebite Trap (enabled by Grove) with Vial Smasher the Fierce online is a...

    Re: Chinese fakes

I don't speak Portuguese, but from the looks of it, those are pretty damned good. In a sleeve, you wouldn't notice the difference in coating.

    Re: Memorable Trades

This might date me, but my most memorable (and painful) trading experience was my Juzam Djinn for his Stone-Throwing Devils.

I thought the Devils were just such a funny concept I couldn't resist....

Re: GP Richmond and its affect on legacy

While there are differing opinions on which format is healthier, I think we can all agree that Modern trumps Legacy when it comes to butt cracks.

[Edit: Not trying to derail the thread, but this...
  12. Re: There and Back again - Miracles Philosphy and Sideboarding

Really good read. Your SB analysis is pretty spot on and eyeopening.

The only thing I'd recommend is some additional proof-reading. There are quite a few dropped letters and misplaced words....

SoFI doesn't play well with Spirit.
  14. Re: [Official] Bitching About Prices and Reprints Thread

Looks like Remand is getting reprinted in the new Duel Deck.

Nothing earth-shattering, but $20 for an uncommon in Modern was getting a little ridiculous, so that's nice.

Source for this? Doesn't look very inferno-y to me.

    Re: Chinese fakes

Calm down, cowboy. It's not ludicrous. I'm doing exactly what you describe.

I've printed my own "high-quality" proxies to use casually for years, and I'm not the only person that does. I own a...

Re: sinkhole is bad and that .akes me sad

The point he was making is that Legacy is a competitive format, and mana denial is a viable part of it.

Generally, people playing Legacy derive their fun by hitting as hard as they can, and...

Re: Jace reprint and the effect on Legacy

The FTV foiling process (as well as the new M14), while pretty ugly, doesn't actually bend much at all. They've pretty much eliminated the warping, so that's a plus.

I remember how angry most of the guys at my local card shop got after Chronicles came out. I thought it was great, though. :)
