    Re: [DTB] Death and Taxes

It would be going down except it provides the necessary evasion to go over TNN and a butt of 3, making it immune to Pyroclasm, Dread of Night and Massacre effects. TNN unfortunately stonewalls...

    Re: [DTB] Death and Taxes

Much better in the slower matchups such as Lands, Shardless Bug and Miracles. Also good vs. Eldrazi and the mirror. Fairly useless in the faster matchups and against combo but its a great in your...

    Re: [DTB] Death and Taxes

I've playtested with Displacer with 10 colorless sources in a monowhite build. I've loved it as Flickerwisp 5-6. Having a 3/3 beater is honestly not that bad and it really shines when you have 3...

    Re: [DTB] Death and Taxes

When my meta was 90% combo, I bit the bullet and placed 4 Elvish Spirit Guide (not dead as we can vial it in later) and 4 canonists in my 75 to deal with turn 1 and turn 2 "I win" decks. It worked...

    Re: [Deck] Death and Taxes

My only concern with Grunt is that it doesn't do much the turn it comes into play other than being a big wall. An opponent has the opportunity to Treasure Cruise in their main phase before Grunt's...

    Re: [Deck] Death and Taxes

I've played 3 games vs. it and have seen another DnT player play 3 games vs. it. Though both of us lost 2-1, the matchup is not unwinnable. It just takes practice and maybe more Oblivion...

    Re: [Deck] Death and Taxes

If you want to play a card to replace SFM, leonin arbiter sounds good in a heavy fetch environment. It also doesn't hurt us at all making it another one sided tax.

    Re: [Deck] Death and Taxes

A very basic non-E tutor board would look somewhat like this:

    4 Ethersworn Canonists
    4 Judge's familiar
    3 Jotun Grunt
    3 Dryad Militant
1 Sword of Light and Shadow

By no means am I saying...

    Re: [Deck] Death and Taxes

I like the idea of a creature SB. With vial and Thalia the synergy would be amazing. However, do we then prepare to board 3 Honor of the Pure? All our utility dorks have tiny butts. A hasted...

    Re: [Deck] Death and Taxes

Congratulations to From Cairo! Very proud to see D and T finish #1. Coming back from mulls to five multiple times shows this deck's consistency.

    Re: [Deck] Death and Taxes

Batterskull is typically the second equip we get. Otherwise the Mystic will be shot out of the sky with all the early removal. Think of Batterskull as a tutorable Serra Avenger.

    Re: [Deck] Death and Taxes

Question: So have we come to a decision on the Batterskull inclusion or not?

I love Sword of Light and Shadow for the flexibility it has but Batterskull delays gobins/merfolk all day, and those...

    Re: [Deck] Death and Taxes

No doubt regarding the slowness of this deck vs. something like Zoo. I'm just using the scenario you presented earlier regarding the usefulness of Flickerwisp with 4 lands on the board.

    Mirran...

Its even better really. Before you were preventing them for making optimal use of one of their land. (Thalia). Now you are preventing them from making use of 2 of their land. Port). They went...

    Re: [Deck] Death and Taxes

Actually, that's a perfect scenario. Play the wisp targeting your land. Now you have a 3/1 flyer, a Thalia, and enough mana to port again in their upkeep.

    Re: [Deck] Death and Taxes

I feel Flickerwisp is one of the most flexible creatures in the deck. Its not an offensive powerhouse like Mirran Crusader however. It won't outright win you the game and make you write an article...

    Re: [Deck] Death and Taxes

I've tested Thalia vs. Reanimator, Burn, Zoo, Nic Fit, UW Stoneblade/Counterbalance and a D & T mirror on Cockatrice this weekend and loved it in every game but the mirror. Even against Zoo it was...
