We do great against RUG. Delver decks used to be our dream matchup pre-DRS and Angler.

    Re: [DTB] Death and Taxes

It's true, we kind of build a house of cards apparatus and can lose when it falls apart.

But thoughts on the marshall and removing ports. WWW is very rough on the mana. Sometimes you'll have a...

If you're playing the Arbiter/Mindcensor package, I'd think some Path to Exile in the sideboard should be solid considering how commonly we run there even without the search hate.

Try to play around PoP (open wastelands, holding back nonbasics if need be), be prepared to use StP on your own dudes, Prelate is pretty good, Jitte can gain life, Thalia slows them down, as would...

I think it's a different deck, but not a bad idea. Have you checked out the Two Green thread in developing?

Right, I somehow only read the Liliana part and filled in the blanks, whoops. Of course yes it does the Gideon bouncing if he's a creature.

Except that Karakas was long ago errata'd to only bounce legendary creatures.

    Re: [DTB] Death and Taxes

In a combo heavy meta I prefer the spirit guides, since in the red or green splashes they are still creatures you can cast and not 100% dead cards later in the game.

    Re: [DTB] Death and Taxes

Kavu looks fun. Though if we're considering Kavu, I wonder if it's worth thinking about Murderous Redcap instead? It's not as much damage, and yes 2RR is harder than 3R, but certainly issues tickets...

    Re: [DTB] Death and Taxes

I tried that for awhile in UW Taxes in modern. It never quite really worked out there, so I think we'd have a much harder time justifying it in legacy.

    Re: [DTB] Death and Taxes

I played around with 5c humans in modern for a bit but it ended up feeling like just a worse linear aggro deck. I think in legacy it would feel a bit like Zoo which isn't played much anymore either.

    Re: [DTB] Death and Taxes

Fair enough, I didn't mean to imply it's a 12 Post vs Miracles type of situation because it isn't. I meant that sometimes we get the cards that make life difficult for them and it works, but...

For what it's worth, we wreck ANT all the time. Yes sometimes, we just lose, but most times we get a turn 2 to mess with them. I strongly recommend not ever casting Healing Salve. That card sucked...

Mostly comes down to bouncing their creatures, and/or how many legends of your own you are running to protect from removal or play tricks with (Thalia, Brimaz, Mangara).

A quick tournament report. I played in the source tournament that jelly is running. I missed top 8 so I'm all done and thought I'd write it up since I ran Imperial Taxes.
