    Re: [Deck] Death and Taxes

So Imperial Recruiter just got reprinted as a judge promo. Its still going to be expensive but far more affordable than it was.

Perhaps we'll see a RW Imperial Taxes build develop as a result...

    Re: [Deck] Death and Taxes

Wayfarer might be good post-board material for matchups where you really want to find Karakas, like against Emrakul in SnT, and various targets in Reanimator. Then again, is it better than the...

    Re: [Deck] Death and Taxes

Are you referring to pre-board or post-board? MD arbiters sound inhibiting when you consider SFM. Has anyone run into this problem in testing?

    Re: [Deck] Death and Taxes

Sure but the advantage of Port is that it does something on its own. Rarely will Ghost Quarter be good without Arbiter. So I question cutting them, especially if you aren't running the full playset...

    Re: [Deck] Death and Taxes

You mean Combo in general laughs at DnT.

I like this new bear. Ghost Quarter becomes a virtual-Stripmine. How do you guys propose to run a 4 Waste 3 Ghost configuration though? Are you cutting...

    Re: [Deck] Death and Taxes

Exactly my thoughts. It shuts down way more of the opponent's deck than it does your own, or else you should just board it out. Now Vial activation at 2cc is so much stronger than it was before...

    Re: [Deck] Death and Taxes

Considering how popular New Horizons is becoming, you may not want to expose your mana base with fetches and duals. I've played a few matches New Horizon's vs. DnT and the mono-white build crushed it...

    Re: [Deck] Death and Taxes

I agree Joe to some extent. I think that DnT had a pretty tough matchup against combo, but this was during the days of Mystical Tutor. Post-board hate was less effective when Mystical Tutor...

    Re: [Deck] Death and Taxes

Are you liking Etutor at 4? Maybe now that gravehate is needed much less, Ichorid is disappearing and Reanimator got nerfed, you should lower the Etutor count to 3 and run +1 Cataclysm.

    Re: [Deck] Death and Taxes

Well I wasn't considering it a replacement to Cataclysm. I suggested that a few pages back as the first thing to run post-MT ban. I think its a good supplemental strategy if Landstill gets really...

    Re: [Deck] Death and Taxes

Well Crucible isn't used to prevent yourself from being wastelocked because you play basics. Rather, you use it to attack there mana base with your OWN wastelock, and you can get rid of their...

Either way, Crucible should go in the board. Especially with the potential for Waste lock, I don't know why it isn't in there in the first place. Its bomb against control.

    Re: [Deck] Death and Taxes

If Landstill does come back around, DalkonCledwin config. with MD Factories looks pretty good. You might want to throw in a Crucible post-board too.

    Re: [Deck] Death and Taxes

He can ramp his vial to 15!!!

No seriously, I think he ran it (obviously in a rush to fill that slot) assuming that Reanimator or 'drop fatty variants' would play SnT or Eureka, and then he would...

    Re: [Deck] Death and Taxes

Wouldn't increasing the number of Vial's postboard be a good way to beat CB? CB is significantly underpowered if they can't stop you from dropping creatures, especially when you can use SFM to...

    Re: [Deck] Death and Taxes

While doing a search, I randomly found this. Its much like Meekstone... only it doesn't affect Grunt. Its probably unnecessary, especially now that Reanimator is dead, but I figured I'd mention it...

    Re: [Deck] Death and Taxes

Yes there will still be storm, but significantly less. I don't think TES and DD variants will emerge as popular choices like ANT because they are so much more difficult to play. I'm guessing that ANT...

    Re: [Deck] Death and Taxes

I'm calling that this is going to shape up to be the best deck in the format post-MT bannings. How do guys plan to adapt your boards now that you don't need to devote an immense amount of SB space to...

Is this on account of you not having the cards to play the toolbox or you like the oldschool SB plan better? I've had much more luck with an Etutor plan than with anything else.

I played Zoo yesterday against Supachai and he beat the shit out of me with Wing Shards. The trick is knowing when to cast it. Sometimes they will try to QPM your equipment and then attack, in which...

    Re: [Deck] Death and Taxes

I like the idea of MD Runed Halo. Its great in so many matches. Which matches do you board it out for though, if at all (seems weak against reanimator)?

It stops top activations, not that its that significant.

I'd much rather play Chant than Abeyance, especially if your meta has faster combo like Belcher.

    Re: [Deck] Death and Taxes

We have different definitions of engine then. An engine is something like Ad Nauseum, D4's, etc. Storm is a mechanic that the deck abuses to win. If anything its the win condition, not the engine....

    Re: [Deck] Death and Taxes

Though I like Weathered Wayfarer in this, Crop Rotation looks stronger in the W/G builds. I was leaning more toward those builds as DnT's new nitch. Crop Rotation finds lots of goodies and it really...
