Incoming Necro. What about Dark Petition as a substitute for Grim Tutor? And perhaps there is room for Gitaxian probe?
Mind posting your list? Unearth does look really strong yea!
Cool idea! I also like the idea that against decks that bring in graveyard hate, you could just board in 3 extra Maniacs and just hardcast it for the win.
Problem would be dealing with things that...
Hey! Havent posted here in a while. I actually took the deck to a tournament a while ago, my thoughts:
Lock pieces work nicely, tho I really really felt like that when other decks start to recover...
I haven't seen any leylines in my past 5 tournaments so I was going to leave it out, but you can easily substitute the Inquisitions for Nature's claim
Necro incoming!
I was actually testing this again a couple days ago and it is a lot of fun! Some thoughts, I don't like chancellor's MD, so I cut those for 3 pacts main. Those are the only...
Mind expanding on this? Why is the Quadlazer list worse against Mav? Why are other lists better?
I have also been playing around with LGSI, because I found the idea of cabal therapy very strong and fun. Maybe the better way is what you said with the conversion of the PSI list but I certainly...
I have been using this:
same main as in the opening post (have been looking for new things, but its hard  plus the MD is pretty solid as it is now)
Side:
4 suppression field
4 leyline of...
Toughts on a single or maybe 2 Academy ruins? Seems pretty good with Riddlesmith to me
You sure you mean Loxodon hierarch? Thats the 4 costing green/white elephant. Doesn't seem good in here :P.
I think Leonin Arbiter is too narrow nowadays, before with survival and mystical tutor it was really good but now I just think Thalia is a way better choice if you opt for more MD lock pieces.
...
What about Winter Orb? Or maybe something for the sideboard? Seems good against control. I like the idea of switching your soft lock pieces against different decks. Cursed totem goes in against...
What are your guys thoughts on dropping white, and adding more liliana's and maybe dark confident/dark ritual? Seems like it would be more explosive and confident/liliana are cards that most decks...
Yea you are probably right, with Merfolk becoming more popular the third piledriver should get better too so that is what I will be cutting it for.
This is the list I have been toying around with lately:
13 mountain
4 wasteland
4 cavern
4 aether vial
4 goblin lackey
4 goblin matron
4 goblin ringleader
4 goblin warchief
Maindeck:
Artifacts
4 Aether Vial
Creatures
4 Gempalm Incinerator
4 Goblin Lackey
4 Goblin Matron
4 Goblin Piledriver
4 Goblin Ringleader
Oh okay, I figured he was talking about playing 3 games against those decks. (with and without SB, like in real life).
I agree with most of your analysis, but the 3 I quoted above I would like to say something about.
RUG - My experience against them isn't that bad, using the guidelines Jrw stated some pages...
Haha yeah, only difference is that I really need to answer Sneak & Show, since that it played quite a bit here.
I also hope we get a playable 1 or 2 cmc gobbo
I also played a Grand prix trial yesterday. Mine didn't go as well tho :roll eyes:
list:
12 mountain
4 cavern
4 wasteland
25 core(-1piley)
4 incinerator
2 stingscourger
2 tarfire
set chalice at 0, hands heavy on matrons/stingscourger's are good too. It kinda of depends on how many fatty's they manage to drop, and if you have stingscourger. 1 Fatty can often be raced in my...
why not? Chalice counters all pacts doesn't it? Or am i missing something. Chalice better against hyper genesis also. Thorn is better then chalice against sneaky show but I don't know if I would even...
Chalice of the void is better then Thorn if you ask me
