Re: [Deck] Deadguy Ale (B/w Confidant)

Event size/field aside, I think the most interesting piece this deck brings to the table is Zealous Persecution. It's an interesting way to get more value out of the token producers and works on a...

Re: [Deck] Deadguy Ale (B/w Confidant)

Yea, as admitted, I'm not sure it's correct. Versus Blade Control I go up to 3, versus 39Lands, I'd go up to 3, etc. My meta has a fair amount of RDW where frankly Bitterblossom is outright bad, as...

Re: [Deck] Deadguy Ale (B/w Confidant)

It's definitely very strong especially against UW Blade decks / control in general. I find it a tough card to always work with against agro.

My issue with going up on numbers of it is casting...

Re: [Deck] Deadguy Ale (B/w Confidant)

I've just started testing this archetype again recently (having played around with it a bit around Zendikar) with the new tools offered in Liliana of the Veil, Lingering Souls and Sorin, Lord of...

Re: [Deck] Deadguy Ale (B/w Confidant)

Have you tested Extirpate versus Surgical Extraction? I like Surgical's casting cost when paired with Hymn to Torach and they're functionally pretty similar versus Snapcaster.dec, but versus...

Re: [Deck] Deadguy Ale (B/w Confidant)

Sword of Fire and Ice serves a different function than the other 3 playable Swords imo. SoF&I is played first for it's triggers and the protections are the tacked on bonus, where the other swords...

Re: [Deck] Deadguy Ale (B/w Confidant)

Jotun Grunt fades, but it has application against just about every deck in the established/tier 1-1.5 metagame. Dredge guys, Life from the Loam, Tarmogoyf, Knight of the Reliquary, Grim Lavamancer,...

Re: [Deck] Deadguy Ale (B/w Confidant)

Surgical Extraction seems better (being able to cast for free after T1 TS/IoK or T2 Hymn), it's less of a tempo hit/investment and even it still seems weak for MB slots.

Re: [Deck] Deadguy Ale (B/w Confidant)

I'd lean towards Mirran Crusader - especially with Mother of Runes. I think MC will have a larger impact on board state generally. W/o Mother of Runes - MC is going to be harder to protect. So I...

Re: [Deck] Deadguy Ale (B/w Confidant)

I really like your build/board. Did you have a thought on what the 2nd Duress would become? Have you considered/tried Phyrexian Metamorph in your E. Tutor toolbox?

Re: [Deck] Deadguy Ale (B/w Confidant)

Really like your MD, any thoughts on a post-Survival sideboard? There probably isn't as much a demand for 6 'yard hate spells and 4 Needle, though I'm not sure what would be best. Maybe some extra...
