Someone made a post on Reddit yesterday revealing how the combo can now (with a few tweaks) be Legacy legal!
Basically you swap the previous combo of Emrakul,...
Hello friends.
Me and a couple of friends designed this piece of art for shits and giggles and played it at two local events before realising it's trash. [emoji23]
Both events yielded 1-3 results,...
I would keep in the blind G1, mulligan if I know the matchup and keep it after sideboarding. Not sure if that's right though.
Do you have a complete decklist?
Yup. I saw those lines as well. Interesting that you play the main deck Tendrils, I might try that out.
You got it. I took a long, hard look at it and I can't seem to find another line than exactly this one, not even one with Laboratory Maniac.
It's turn two. You've played a land. Storm is two and you have resolved Doomsday. Life is at 10.
To the left is your hand. To the right are your options.
Win this turn.
...
Yup. Sometimes no matter how much preparations you make it just does not matter, but great job anyway! :)
It is unlikely to ever matter, that is true. For the off chance of it happening though...
The Surgical Exctraction seems counter-intuitive since you will probably also want to bring in Ground Seal in the same mathups.
Night's Whisper usually comes in against control and heavy discard decks, I have never had the joy of wishing for it though. :)
I have also not tried out Painful Truths, but I have a feeling the...
As Oleg hinted at, the Burning Wish is primarily to battle Surgical Extractions (and other pin-point Tutor hate) post board. It has been great.
I really like to play with two basic Island, so...
I couldn't agree more with this. I especially like spreading out the bounce spells since they tend to have very different targets. While I usually take in the whole sweep against decks like Stax or...
For the straight Grixis variants I currently run this sideboard to great success:
2 Fatal Push
2 Surgical Extraction
1 Cabal Therapy
1 Night's Whisper
2 Chain of Vapor
1 Echoing Truth
1...
Dark Confidants aside, I really like a one-of Night's Whisper in the side in the pure Grixis variants
What is up with thepowernine's fetches?
Misty Rainforests must have been a mistake when Scalding Tarn can also get the Badlands.
Playing Burning Wish without Rite of Flame seems so sketchy. I've...
I had to order one last night. Quickest impulse purchase of my Magic career...
Trading Post is king with Ensnaring Bridge guys. I'm just saying.
I think my main point was that it gives incremental advantage. I see it more as pseudo-card advantage than anything else.
An extra mana here, an extra Deathrite activation there, the opponent having...
I think what makes Scryb Ranger so good is the unexpected factor it brings to a game. Given that, the matchups where it shines is against non-linear strategies where incremental advantage is key.
Baral will sadly never be good enough, likely because of the same reasons Jace, Vryn's Prodigy will never see enough play. The reason is Karakas.
What surprises me the most is the decision on what lands to play. You're playing more white spells than usual, with triple Prelate and a Gideon in the main, but you've upped the number of forests....
You said a lot of words when all we demand is a list!
I think I'm going to give the multiple Prelates a shot. It sounds like it might just give a lot of random game when we would otherwise just fold.
I played the following list a couple of weeks ago in a four round tournament.
It went horribly, but it did yield some valuable insight into how the deck plays. :D

Has anyone tried playing with Porphyry Nodes (or Drop of Honey?) They seem really strong in a meta full of D&T but I don't play often enough to determine their potency.
I figure they are put in...
