    Re: [Primer] Food Chain Combo

Food chain needs a heavy anti combo package in the form of discard, counters, or hate permanents. Hymn is one option. I personally prefer a mix of hymn and cheaper pin point discard since hymn is bad...

    Re: [Primer] Food Chain Combo

Tested a bit more. Trinket mage package seems underwelming. The cards you are tutoring for just aren't that impactful. Against fair decks in top deck mode I just want to empath into angler to start...

    Re: [Primer] Food Chain Combo

I think have a cc 3 tutor creature is valuable since it can start the chain. Be it empath or mage. a noncombo ballista doesn't do much to generate mana.

    Re: [Primer] Food Chain Combo

Is empath tutoring up angler still good though? Ballista is vulnerable to needle where as we were not vulnerable to needle before. I like the option of being able to empath/angler for four mana ...

    Re: [Primer] Food Chain Combo

I think griffin is still better. If you don't have an emrakul (or vela or tidespout or whoever you want to run) "getting the flock out" means a bunch of underpowered ground pounders. With griffin you...

Took GoGo-Gadget-Griffins to Card Kingdom's Legacy preservation Series 1k over the weekend. Went 5-2 for a 13th place finish. Close yet no cigar but the tournament was fun and I had a good run...

Nice work at the tourney! Yer list looks pretty good. Baleful strix is the all star vs delver. Mana is key so fetch when you can't get stifled and play around daze. A timely abrupt decay will often...

    Re: [Primer] Food Chain Combo

I'd cut either tidespout or emrakul (you don't need both) and lim dul's vault for some ponders. Lim dul's vault is cute but it doesn't draw you a card and costs too much. Ponder finds lands when you...

    Re: [Primer] Food Chain Combo

Do you play Ponder? I play it as a two of (even before the dig ban) and it helps find combo pieces and smooth out our draws which is helpful against nasty tempo decks that want to bottle up our mana....

    Re: [Primer] Food Chain Combo

Definitely would be sweet to see the list.

I did a bunch of testing this weekend. Man this deck really misses the Dig through Time. The sequence of "end of turn -Dig into find whatever combo...

Dig through Time is officially banned in legacy.

I think this is great news for this deck. Without as many blue combo decks in the mix, the meta will probably shift back to a more shardless BUG,...

Against Omni tell we are boarding out decay and misdirection. It does slow us down but for the small price of some speed we get to virtually shut down the deck entirely. I'm testing sphere at the...

    Re: [Primer] Food Chain Combo

Cutting brainstorm??? What are you nuts? JK. Chalice is good but trinishpere is better. Shuts down delver cold for the most part and doesn't effect our combo at all. Just makes our cantrips...

    Re: [Primer] Food Chain Combo

The best way to play the deck in my opinion is to play it like a midrange deck such as shardless BUG that happens to have a combo finish. The combo itself is rather slow and takes multiple cards to...

Took down the local last night with good ol shardless. Love Love the deck. I'm a BUG Delver (Team America) player by trade but I switched to this after TCruise showed up and I ain't going back.

Re: [Deck] Team America (BUG Delver)

I think I'm gonna try the 18 land build. With delver variants moving towards no wasteland I think it's worth it. I was already cutting down on lands in match ups like miracles so I think we can get...

In what way is 16th place in a gigantor tourney past its prime? We just need to adapt. Stifle seems good again. Krosan Grip into the board as at least a one off.

As an aside. Convince me that...

Some thoughts after the GP results:

UR delver is good but beatable.
Stoneforge mystic is the card that beats it.
    Miracles is still good.
Liliana just can't keep up with treasure cruise....
