    Re: GB Vengevine

Troll was really good for me in the old list when you could play DRS on turn 1 and Troll turn 2 with regeneration mana up. Turn 3 is slow. You could use Petal and play it turn 2. Also, you can hold...

Sticky: Poll: Re: All B/R update speculation.

I still think the edge goes to combo. In fair blue decks, most cards are roughly equal quality. You don't know which you'll need for the match until the game starts playing out. You can smooth basic...

Sticky: Poll: Re: All B/R update speculation.

It's not separate. You dismissed my zombie deck (and most random creature decks) as not relevant because they're not "viable" in Legacy. But why aren't they viable? They do well against fair decks....

Sticky: Poll: Re: All B/R update speculation.

Yeah Delver was the nail in the coffin. Though I'd argue Delver of Secrets made Wild Nacatl obsolete because blue aggro has much better matchups against unfair decks than green aggro, so pure aggro...

    Re: 4 Card Blind

I like the idea of a rotating banlist to keep the meta fresh. This time around, Rack decks and FoW decks clearly won, so it would make sense to ban those (or ban Griffin and leave FoW with a...

Thanks for posting your test results.

Gamble has always been one of my favorite Magic cards. Glad to see it has a home here. What did you cut for Gambles?

No, the biggest risk is Goblin Charbelcher, followed by Tendrils of Agony, Emrakul, the Aeons Torn and Griselbrand.

Board wipes are less scary. Aggro doesn't flood unless it's racing. Against slow...

    I support the following bans:
The Rack -- (reasons already said by others, too powerful with these format rules)
Cabal Therapy -- (miles better than Thoughtseize: can hit multiples, can be flashed...

Sticky: Poll: Re: All B/R update speculation.

Strongly disagree. Their viability is not tied to Terminus.

You're equating the creature deck's viability with whether the opponent can resolve Wrath. That's a false equivalence. They're not...

    Re: 4 Card Blind

I think it's just that Leyline of the Void was really bad in this field. You're essentially playing a 3 card deck. Both our decks would have been significantly better with any random threat or answer...

Sticky: Poll: Re: All B/R update speculation.

In your view, why are "creature feature" decks bad compared to Cavern Vial Port? Why will they be irrelevant and do much worse?

Seems like your reason is this: they would die to board wipes, but...

Sticky: Poll: Re: All B/R update speculation.

You missed the point. Banning Terminus wouldn't make any non-DnT non-blue deck unplayable, because board wipes aren't what's keeping fair creature decks out of legacy.

    See: DnT is already much...

Exactly one? Try Goblins or Merfolk. (although that still backs up your point that Vial allows creature decks to spend lands on Port/Waste to slow down answers or manlands to dodge removal).

    Then...

    Hmm..

T1 - You play Rack. I take 0 and play Scrubland, Student.
    T2 - You discard something. I take 2 and attack for 1 (Level 1). 18 vs 19

Check my post a few back. I think we draw both.

I didn't consider playing it or playing around it because the rules clearly said Legacy B/R. Mishra's Workshop and Sol Ring could also lead to powerful decks, but they're not Legacy legal...

    Re: GB Vengevine

Belcher needs 4-7 mana on turn 1 to win. That's why it runs so many mana sources. The all-in deck needs 1 mana on turn 1.

A better comparison is LED Dredge, another explosive deck that just needs...

I like Stubborn Denial a lot more than Lost Legacy. The rainbow manabase makes it feasible. Most players won't see it coming.

Is Invasive Surgery too narrow to matter in enough other matchups?
