I believe Bryant was commenting on the situation, but there are a lot of good articles on casting brainstorm (in general) and it is a key play in this deck, they might be worth a look.

Firstly, I'm assuming that in your stompy games you didn't get a burning wish? You can pay the replicate cost any number of times on shattering spree and the copies won't be countered by chalice....

Knowing when to brainstorm is probably the most difficult play in this deck. You might draw into the nuts and win immediately, or you might draw crap. if you get something in between then your going...

The thing about that is I have shattering spree in for dragon stumpy and angel staxx, and I sometimes wonder if they exist. I have eye of nowhere for fringe cases that never show up. If I could find...

I generally have 4+ pieces of Counterbalance hate. I normally swap out chants for pyroblast, but if I'm worried I'll cut a ponder and keep one in, if it's a deck that doesn't play wasteland, I'll cut...

Of the options; naming chant, naming duress, naming wish, naming Ad nauseam or being real techie and naming Tendrils I would name Ad Nauseam. But I think Chant is next best.
