And cut what form the main and side to fit it? GSZ is more or less what your after in that regard.
Punishing Elves? Sounds like fun. Need to add Loam and Depths though to really get it going. Bonus, it feeds DRS.
Elves can already push a fine Midrange game. The only reason to go further down such a path would be to deal with an overly hostile meta and even then, it would be better to play a dedicated Midrange...
Sorry. You where only 6 points short...
I was actually going to suggest it when you posted you where playing Progenitus, but you where already in game when I saw your post so there was no point.
Trust me, this guy is a pain. Use it,...
Really hard to Punishing Fire it to death.
Not sure it's worth the Red to do it though.
I see no problems with this.
Congrats guys and welcome back. The format is always better with you guys in the DTB.
The older version if the deck (Crop Rotation days) was faster, ran less lands and was more in on going off turn 2/3. The modern version runs about 5 extra lands and is less bent on that early finish....
It's use is limited I feel to decks that can force drawing or slow down the game. I can't see it in Elves. I guess if you got and early Glimpse and dropped a pair though it would be funny.
I have not laughed like this in months. Thanks.
Does this mean I am going to be pointing Punishing Fire at my old tribe again?
As someone that has played Elves in Modern I can say, it's ok. It is very straight forward though. The amount of choices you have is quite a lot smaller than you would think.
On this new elf, oh...
Three Rec Sage and 3 Visionary? Um... Your doing it wrong.
I feel like it will make a splash in Modern, not betting in it for Legacy. Not going to say it's not going to end up in sideboards here...
The deck already runs four walkers, not much space left for more of them.
I am told by good sources that Chalice for one can be areal pain for those Cantrip heavy decks. Maybe we should run that?
In all seriousness, what do people think of options like Thorn?
If you have Painter out, why not look for something truly broke, like TNN?
Even when I put Elves down, I still love them... Maybe it's the sadist in me...
Given the fluctuations in the meta right now, I am sure you will bounce in and out for a bit but when the dust...
Winning outright seems like a better choice over a 7 drop Lava Axe.
Razor does not stop Moxen from making mana and two toughness is the cardinal sin against lands.
I would rather just run Null Rod.
I do not think Elves will be back in the next update, likely the one after though. That is assuming that the next update is not skipped on account of the changing and volatile meta.
Thinking...
Welcome to the site.
Yes, this will make the deck less effective when it's on the table, but I feel like we are still strongly placed thanks to the in built redundancy.
Glimpse still kills, if you can't NO there is always just drawing more than they can answer, playing out combat tricks and beating face. It not like we haven't done that before.
Edit:
It also...
