    Re: [Primer/Deck] Pox

I think if you're going to play Scroll in Loam Pox I would get the cycle land count up a little bit (Tranquil Thicket/Barren Moor.) Dredging loam and getting back lands to convert into 2/2's is...

Sticky: Poll: Re: All B/R update speculation.

He's guessing. My opinion is that I think Opal might get a ban because of the Emry/Urza combo variants that are rising up in force, but I don't think Stirrings will get banned. Tron is as...

Re: [Deck] Dreadstill - Enter the Fist

I've watched 3/4 of the videos so far and I have to agree, Standstill seemed AMAZING. One thing I did notice was that Delver quite often had a hard time flipping; I've noticed that in my games as...

Re: [Deck] Dreadstill - Enter the Fist

Great games! Finding the aggressive line against reanimator g2 was really cool. Miracles player got a tundra off Vista...tsk tsk tsk. Was he cheating or was that an honest mistake?

Re: [Deck] Dreadstill - Enter the Fist

I've been jamming/goldfishing this list and I really like it. It took a few practice games to find out where the tweaks needed to happen, and it is likely still not optimal (but I won't know that...

    Re: [Primer/Deck] Pox

It's not very common anymore, I haven't seen it in ages. It does a great job against Dark Depths, Reanimator, and Sneak/Show. Depending on how many of those decks you expect to face it can replace...

    Re: [Primer/Deck] Pox

I just meant to say that in Turbo Depths its good enough to warrant 4 in the maindeck, not for Pox. I meant at least 2-3 between the main/side. If you have a metagame ripe for Needle to hose, by all...

Re: [Deck] Dreadstill - Enter the Fist

-I have the full set of Scrolls, they are too good to play less an 4. So I have 8 dreadnought enablers, which is penty.
-I think Scroll makes Standstill playable, otherwise I don't think it's as...

Re: [Deck] Dreadstill - Enter the Fist

Snap would only be good if followed by a Standstill, otherwise it's an overcosted Unsummon. I don't have a lot of instant speed ways to take advantage of the spare 2 mana, maybe a timely Daze without...

    Re: [Primer/Deck] Pox

I really like Collective Brutality in a blind metagame. It's almost never dead. Mire in Misery seems like an especially good addition to Pox for providing outs to problematic cards. I've been on 4...

Re: [Deck] Dreadstill - Enter the Fist

Thanks for the insight, because I've been retooling my deck to get Standstill back in (to synergize with Scroll) and I was really wondering if Vision Charm was worth any slots. I was also thinking...

    Re: Dimir Lantern

I have been thinking about the fact that Lantern hasn't been played as well, which seems odd. It was such a power-house for a long time in the modern format.

I was thinking it should be very easy...

Re: [Deck] Dreadstill - Enter the Fist

How many Gargoyles were you playing? I am trying to figure out how many to play, as I see it as a good threat but not necessarily a build around. What about it makes do you think its a trap card?

    Re: Landfall Zoo

I've been tinkering with something like this in Modern (Lynx + Reclaimer) but I never thought to go Legacy with it, let alone Depths combo. The idea intrigues me, and I even have the mana-base to...

Re: [Deck] Dreadstill - Enter the Fist

I've squeezed 2 in my Turbo Depths maindeck, would love to be able to get 3 in there but space is tight. I 100% agree with you on this, and it's another reason I like Vision Charm in the mono-blue...

Re: [Deck] Dreadstill - Enter the Fist

Lazav and Abrupt Decay both seem like pretty good inclusions in Sultai, and you already mentioned Crop Rotation and Library. I totally understand if you don't want to spoil the list, but if you want...

Sticky: Poll: Re: All B/R update speculation.

I'm back to 4 Needle main in Turbo Depths. There are so many targets in the format right now that it's almost never dead.

Sticky: Poll: Re: All B/R update speculation.

    You should check the lists.

I think you're being a little too reductionist in the way RUG approaches the Depths matchup. Crop Rotation isn't really a silver bullet so much as it's redundant copies...

Sticky: Poll: Re: All B/R update speculation.

Sure, I can buy that. I think it's an example of a card that is obviously powerful, but not obviously too powerful. The full extent isn't revealed until the community breaks it in half. Deathrite...

Sticky: Poll: Re: All B/R update speculation.

I didn't see an announcement; no changes? It was supposed to be yesterday.

EDIT: Yep, just saw it. No changes. I think this is fine, hoping for a small semblance of stability in the modern format...

    Re: Modern Post-Hogaak

I agree, the mishandling of the format has really given it 'baggage'. I also agree that modern is in a great spot; I'm playing Stoneblade and it's powerful but not oppressive. Hell, it isn't even...

Here is the dtb section on mtgtop8 for September:

Burn and Tron doing well as most predicted, and Whirza is picking up a ton of momentum.

Re: [Deck] Dreadstill - Enter the Fist

Thanks for the feedback! I have played into the 'burn them out' strategy before in Urx decks (I do it often in Modern), I just don't feel that 4 Bolts is enough. I would want at least 6-8 burn spells...
