Re: Does anyone play normal Highlander?

Here's a link to the points list. There's a lot more info on their forums.

    Re: [DTB] CounterTop

There's really no direct correlation between trinket mage and shackles. Imo shackles is just too slow for the format. Bant doesn't run EE and has no real need for another creature anyway so theres no...

    Re: [DTB] CounterTop

Wow. That was really productive on your part.

Besides EE and SDT trinket mage fetches, crypt, relic and pithing needle post board. I'll just mention that because its possible that your mental...

    Re: [DTB] CounterTop

Stoneforge mystic is very bad. Very, very, very bad. I really don't even understand why people are considering it. Besides the cutesy vial mystic etc etc plays most decks would rather just run more...
  5. Re: Raise, raise, raise. The price of cardboard

They don't need inside info. SCG can sell anything because they have a propaganda machine named Evan Erwin. All they need to do is get Evan to start freaking out claiming this will be the best card...

Re: Does anyone play normal Highlander?

I play and I like it a lot. The banned list is a bit weird, but I think the format is much more balanced than EDH although it isn't really suitable for multiplayer play. I really enjoy all highlander...

Re: Could Legacy be a PTQ format?

The SCG 5k Legacy events have all drawn over 100 people. The last one got over 200. The large p9 events in vestal got like 130 and 180 respectively. GP madrid got 2200. BOM3 had like 500 people. I'm...

    Re: [DTB] CounterTop

4 slots should be fine considering firespout is decent vs them anyway. I'd go 2 crypt, 2 relic though as is sucks when they unmask you and take rav trap. Crypt and relic are also better against decks...

Some random korean stuff. Check out the hydroblasts. Took a long time to find those.

    Re: [DTB] CounterTop

I tried putrefy, but it was just too slow. Snuff out is just so much faster and lets me drop a sower which is pretty weak as well. Running pulse and EE also means I don't have to run a bunch of grips...

    Re: [DTB] CounterTop

Here is my list for those of you who are interested. It might look somewhat insane, but it works quite well. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

    20 lands
    4 wasteland
    2 island
    1 forest...

    Re: [DTB] CounterTop

Landstill plays spell snare so the comparison isn't valid. One of the main reasons siding out fow can completely screw you is the fact that you won't really be able to counter PoP reliably if you do.
  14. Re: Raise, raise, raise. The price of cardboard

I've said it before and I'll say it again WoW ccg is just a better designed version of magic. Everything most people hate about magic is eliminated and the only reason that game isn't as successful...
  15. Re: Raise, raise, raise. The price of cardboard

If card supply is that much of a problem the best solution would be for wizards to just institute a rule that allows proxies in legacy at the cost of $2/ proxy with all money going towards prize...
  16. Re: Raise, raise, raise. The price of cardboard

Are you talking about the same wizards that designed zendikar before they decide to make the m10 rules change so now a bunch of zendikar cards are utter garbage thanks to no more damage on the stack?...
  17. Re: Raise, raise, raise. The price of cardboard

The print run of legends was much larger than that of Alpha and Beta. When you add in italian legends there are going to be around 8-10 times as many tabernacle's as A/B bop's. I doubt prices will...

  19. Re: Raise, raise, raise. The price of cardboard

If card values are decreasing naturally it is because demand is decreasing which means the game is dying.

If card values fluctuate as you say then you should accept increased prices on legacy...
  20. Re: Raise, raise, raise. The price of cardboard

That point is an absolute joke.

Why don't all you people who whine about card value increasing just live with that? Card values increasing are much better for the game then card values decreasing....

    Re: [Bragging] Pimp Legacy Decks

I agree completely. One day I was really bored so I looked up a bunch of different alphabets. By far the coolest were Urdu, Korean, Arabic, and Aramaic. It would also be awesome to get bazaars and AN...
  22. Re: Raise, raise, raise. The price of cardboard

To be honest the only real way wizards can increase supply is through reprints or promos. Reprints are pretty much out of the question as WotC doesn't want certain legacy staples in newer formats and...

    Need some EbAy help

So I recently bought a korean volrath's stronghold on ebay. The auction didn't contain a picture of the card, but the seller had a ton of feedback so I wasn't too worried. The card arrived and of...
  25. Re: Raise, raise, raise. The price of cardboard

Italian legends isn't really worth opening. A box is like $500+ and if you don't pull a tabernacle or moat you are screwed. If you do hit a tabernacle though you've probably made a profit as you...
