Hello,
Im currently running UW merfs. I like it better over the mono u merfs, but they have their own strenghts and weakness.
Creatures [20]
4 Cursecatcher
2 Silvergill Adept
3 Sejir...
In my UW merfs i run 3 stp 1 pte and 2 echoing truths.
I know stp and pte are bad at times but removal is removal and there are times in which a permanent solution is better over a temporary one.
@angel882
hello,
Splashing green for tarmo is nice but im not a fan of UG merfs, im not saying its weak or anything. I don't know whats the reason for you not to like Sejiri Merfolk in the white...
Hello,
If your running a mono blue list your sb should look something like this.
3 relic of progenitus
1 tormod's crypt
2 spell pierce
4 hydroblast
2 ecohing truth
2 umezawa's jitte or 2...
If i was to run a mono u merf list i would somehow run something like this.
Lands [20]
13 island
3 wasteland
4 mutavault
Creatures [21]
4 cursecatcher
4 silvergil adept
Yeah there where none indeed the 2 drops propossed before where (grimoire thief, rootwater thief and inkfathom infiltrator). I didn't brought that up qq or something i just wanted to point out that...
The jellyfish seems good at first look but its crap after it sinks in.
Lets say you get bolted and you vial in this dude. okay he untaps after 1 swing his in dormant mode again. You have to wait...
If your running Sejiri Merfolk facing mirror matchups would slightly give you the upperhand. Sejiri's lifelink is really nice against aggro race.
Im running UW merfs and using both standstill and Sejiri Merfolk in my list. Sejiri Merfolk is good to some extent even with lords in play its within burn range, its pretty good against decks that...
@Raptor
I've noticed that you only ran 4 plains aswell im guessing Sejiri Merfolk doesn't go online often. You said in your testing he was really good, what was his role a life gainer ? a muscle...
Hello,
I've read your report. The list you ran had 3 Sejiri Merfolk, how was it ? Was the 1st strike and lifelink worth it ?
As for your sideboard, just wondering why not run oblivion ring...
Seasingers are good in mirror matches since you can steal a reejerey, merfolk soveriegn or waketrasher to increase you armies power.
Jitte is nice agaisnt mirror aswell.
In my exprience in playing merfs, a resolved jitte is almost a win for your opponent. Especially if you can't block the creature whos holding it or have superior combat ability like 1st strike.
I know you guys don't want the idea about spreading seas and seasinger, but seasinger is also good in mirror matches and anything that runs blue. Like what sclabman had pointed out, spreading seas...
I used seasingers because i was using spreading seas. Spreading seas is not as bad as you think, it disrupts your opponents lands and making your loa more effective against non island users and adds...
I tried a different approach on the current merfs build and it showed success in the times i've used it. I've tried loading 6 stp effects before against zoo and i could say yes it provided a better...
The new merfs => 1U 2/1 gets lifelink and 1st strike is very weak as compared to other 1 drops like kird ape nor the new white 2/3 lion. Im still hoping they would make a UW merf thats worth it,...
A pretty standard list indeed...
yup kuddos to team china for bringing merfs on top.
Hello all,
Just want to update you guys all being a merfs player aswell on what happened after a 59 man tourny was held in our place.
Sad to say but all the players who used merfs got crushed to...
Its been a 3-4 weeks since i've used merfs in our place since our meta was filled with red splash and its really hard to get a win in our meta using merfs. Gobs is more visible aswell. Warren...
Silvergill Adept is a good card that gives you card advantage. Yes i've exprienced that too especially if its a topdeck and with no vial set at 2.
Pilferer, Grirmore Theif, Rootwater Thief, etc....
For me right now merfs is on a plateau stage, zen didn't offer something worth testing, and after several months well see how merfs will fair with the current legacy card changes.
As for the...
I'll rather try Caller of Gales over Cosi's Trickster.
Caller provides your merfs with evasion and away to deal with flyers aswell. While cosi is just a creature that grow's on his own (similarly...
I hate to admit it but the more i read merfs threads the more i believe its really just a meta deck and shouldn't be in the decks to beat section, maybe its place is in the established decks.
I...
