Re: [CaNGD] Triton's Minions after Monrningtide

I think that throughout the course of the day, disynergy b/t Jitte and Kira only mattered once. Many times I've either already had it equipped before dropping Kira or, I was content with spending 4...

Re: [CaNGD] Triton's Minions after Monrningtide

    Hey guys,

Yesterday I placed 13th at the SCG 5k in Philadelphia with a record of 7-2. Here's my list followed by a short tourney report.

    Artifacts
    4 Aether Vial

    Creatures
    4 Coralhelm...

    Re: [DTB] Merfolk

He's saying that against decks like zoo, you can bounce a turn 1 Nacatl, or if they're on the play, a Pridemage. But I agree, seems too narrow.

    Re: [DTB] Merfolk

I actually really like that idea but it seems like it may be too narrow. ET can hit Prisons, Humilty, Moat, etc

And Commander can even fly over Moat!

Kicks, I like your list too and I plan on testing it thoroughly. Commander looks promising.

    Re: [DTB] Merfolk

Coralhelm seems solid IMO. By himself he's a threat, with evasion. Someone mentioned that having flying is stupid when you have islandwalk; well, not all decks have islands my man. Also, you can't...

But those are 3 or 4 different cards while Needle is a one-stop answer to all of those.

Alex, with nearly the exact list as before top 16d at the philly 5k this weekend. It seems that his unconventional list (im looking at you pithing needle) is worth looking into

    Re: [DTB] Merfolk

I mean that a Zoo player will focus their attention and their resources on a Tarmogoyf, which in the meantime, will take pressure off of the backs of our Lords. Take a look at this list, I can't...

    Re: [DTB] Merfolk

What Goyf can do is slow down Zoo, you can build up an army of Merfolk while your opponents attention is focused on Goyf. He absorbs burn spells and Lavamancer's while protecting your lords. Giyf...

    Re: [DTB] Merfolk

Sure Threads is a good card but it folds to both Grip and Pridemage. Running Goyfs of your own doesn't only solve your Tarmogoyf problem but it stops Lavamancers, Nacatl's, Instigators and Lackeys,...

    Re: [DTB] Merfolk

Just look through the thread man. This Merfolk thread seems to suffer what many other threads suffer. People post lists and ask advice on their specific builds and no actual discussion takes place....

    Re: [DTB] Merfolk

Isn't the best answer to Zoo and other burn/aggro strategies just Tarmogoyf?

    @Nightmare
You argue that Wake Thrasher blows, and I agree with your argument that he sucks when it matters, during...

    Re: [DTW] Merfolk

This decks biggest problem, besides Gobbos, is sweepers (Firespout, EE, Clasm, WoG, Deed, etc.). That is where thrasher thrives. After the initial rush has been dealt with, you can drop a Thrasher...
