    Re: Escape Brain Freeze

Lucky. They always name 2 on me, which is much worse because it also gets half of my answers. I run 2 Chain of Vapor main and 2 Burning Wish to fetch Meltdown\Vapor Snag.

    Grinding Station is only...

    Re: Escape Brain Freeze

The more I play it the less I think it's actually that good. It might just be me, but I personally haven't done very well with the deck. To give some context, I'm doing about as well on it as I did...

    Re: Escape Brain Freeze

Little nitpick: This will get breach and tutor up BF. Just need R if you already have BF.

Also you can keep targeting your 0 mana artifacts with Chain by sacrificing your own lands. So 2 lands...

    Re: Escape Brain Freeze

I was trying to find a hand with enough land\the right land. I don't remember the exact hands, but the instances where I had 1 land I had no cantrips, and if I had more than 1 mana source I would...

    Re: Escape Brain Freeze

In theory it allows you to grind out your opponent, but mainly I've found it kind of lackluster.

    Re: Escape Brain Freeze

Yes. I kept him off playing the combo until I got null rod to 2. Then the threat of cracking on his combo turn forced him to dig for removal and gave me time to get a second delver online and kill...

    Re: Escape Brain Freeze

I should point out that this is a weekly.

On another note, I took this list to Thursday night legacy going 1-2-1
    3 Scalding Tarn
    4 Flooded Strand
    1 Plains
    2 Island
    1 Mountain
    1 Tundra

    Re: Escape Brain Freeze

    Thanks for volunteering

In all seriousness though, this is a good idea. There are a lot of ways to play sloppy with this deck, and as I learned last FNM, it's not particularly easy to...

    Re: Escape Brain Freeze

Do you think we have a static enough list for a primer? This is just off memory , but it seems like there are a lot of slots in flux still.

    18-22 Mana Sources
    9-11 Fetch Lands
    2 Island
    1...

    Re: Escape Brain Freeze

The deck is much harder than I had initially thought. I understand why people are struggling with it the first week of play.

    Re: Escape Brain Freeze

I took this list to FNM last night. I ended up going 2-2, though I think I probably could have won round 4 (just not sure how).

    3 Scalding Tarn
    4 Flooded Strand
    1 Plains
    2 Island
    1 Mountain...

Congratulations on the trophy! When do you end up using Empty the Warrens? It seems like most of the time you can get a decent storm count you can just win with Grapeshot (at least that's my...

    Re: Escape Brain Freeze

My kneejerk reaction is no. Pithing needle stops resolved tormod's and crop rotation can be countered\silenced. Faerie Macabre is a bit of a problem, but not as much as you'd think since our first...

    Re: Escape Brain Freeze

I've been on a 3 FoW, 2 Flusterstorm counter package and have been very happy with it. Pitching a cantrip or BF to FoW hurts, but a lot less than a Chalice of the Void or surgical. Plus Fluster...

    Re: Escape Brain Freeze

So we're looking at something like this as our "primer"?

    9-11 Protection

    Defense Grid
    Teferi, Time Raveler
    Pact of Negation
    Spell Pierce
    Force of Will
    Flusterstorm

    Re: Escape Brain Freeze

This is a very good thing to keep in mind when you're wishing for Grapeshot. They never have an opportunity to Surgical the grapeshot as long as you don't stop to cast LED, so get all the R you need...

    Re: Escape Brain Freeze

After some friends started playtesting with me, I've started to gravitate heavier into a T4+ win with disruption. The more I play the more I am finding that the power of the deck is in it's ability...

    Re: Escape Brain Freeze

I really like the idea of Brazen Borrower as a split since it can answer chalice on 1, which stops all your cantrips. I am currently on 3 chain of vapor MD and 1 Echoing Truth SB. I’m planning on...

StP was ok, but I’ve found Chain of Vapor to be better since it also acts as MD permanent hate.

    Re: Escape Brain Freeze

Thoughts on a singleton maindeck Grinding Station as a way to use Etutor to "tutor up" a BF? Basically you'd need 1 card in graveyard then repeat:

Sacrifice LED to GS -> 4 in yard
    escape LED ->...

    Re: Escape Brain Freeze

This is where I think the strength of the deck lies. We aren't faster than Reanimator or Belcher, and we aren't as resilient as say Sneak and Show. But we can literally win out of nowhere, with...
