Presumably Rain of Filth?
Decks that slam Chalice early do so at the cost of deploying their threats a turn later, giving you a card. If you have a Hurkyl's Recall in your hand against a deck like Eldrazi, one reasonable plan...
Vegas report. Not super detailed but there were a couple of interesting spots. Played against every flavour of BUG under the sun, mostly managed to dodge Chalices.
I never bring in Empty the Warrens against Death & Taxes; it's too tough to make one big enough fast enough that it doesn't get raced by Stoneforge Mystic.
Rule of Law is probably acceptable as a split with Rest In Peace. Grixis ANT lists will have twoish ways to remove it postboard, 4-Colour lists will have up to fourish. Coming down on turn three is a...
By Force flips as a 1 to Ad Nauseam, not shut off by Chalice or Prelate on 2.
Surfinbird's got a new sideboard for the 2 DP, 1 PIF, 1 AN, 1 TOA list:
1 By Force
1 Culling Scales
2 Dread of Night
2 Echoing Truth
1 Empty the Warrens
1 Flusterstorm
1 Hurkyl's Recall
1...
Hope of Ghirapur has shown up in at least one 5-0 list from MTGO.
I tried out Surfinbird's list on Monday. Didn't love it, but that might have just been that all my matchups were boring hate vs...
Wished for a By Force tonight. It was better than Meltdown, Pulverize, or Shattering Spree would have been.
You're stuck with Faerie Macabre if you want to have outs to this, I think.
Thanks! I'm probably still on Wishes for now, but I'll give your list a spin at least once before I make any decisions about Vegas.
@Surfinbird
Any reason you like Dark Petition over Burning Wish?
Why 3 Dread of Night instead of a split with Massacre?
Can we get a brief sideboard guide for that list?
Surfinbird19 5-0ed three leagues today with the following list:
3 Cabal Therapy
2 Dark Petition
3 Duress
4 Gitaxian Probe
4 Infernal Tutor
1 Past in Flames
4 Ponder
2 Preordain
I am. I'm not convinced that configuration would be better overall. Minimizing the need for red mana is nice, I guess, but I think Infernal Tutor is just better than Dark Petition. If you could play...
Quick thought on justifying Burning Wish: if you think it's now unnecessary to fill the sideboard with green cards, then freed-up sideboard space enables Burning Wish to take the place of sub-optimal...
I actually kind of like that TNT deck. I think I'll test that maindeck -1 land -1 Duress, +1 Chrome Mox, +1 Rain of Filth. Playing Burning Wish lets you not be almost colded by a Surgical Extraction....
I've always liked the 3/1 Tarn/Mire split.
Two ANT and one TNT list in today's 5-0 decks on MTGO. Couple of different sideboard approaches.
Is there any consensus currently on what to play in the sideboard for Death & Taxes? I'm looking at ken_cowload's list but it's clearly not designed for the paper metagame.
They do get to draw a card for each Tendrils copy, so if this isn't happening on MTGO, it's a bug.
If we're bringing in Decays for Miracles, Death & Taxes, BUG, Eldrazi, Burn, etc. we surely should be playing them maindeck.
I played some test games with the Jon Alexander's Grinding Station against Eldrazi. Lost every post-board game. I'd Daze a Chalice very consistently and then just die before I could go off.
For real though, the temptation to cut all the Abrupt Decays and Dazes and just run Teferi's Realms maindeck is real.

What would you cut from your Grinding Station sideboard if you were going to play graveyard hate?
