Re: The current state of Magic

I guess you could still play the Mirage fetches. No cross-color ones, and obviously vulnerable to Waste. But maybe better than nothing? Wouldn't work in Tempo, but should be fine in 4C and Miracles.

    Re: [Deck] Dragon Stompy

The main thing is, if they run them in their SB, people will always bring in answers to Leyline. Simply because it's highly probably those answers also are relevant against a great deal of the deck...

    Re: Magic cards donation

Perhaps two birds could be killed with one stone. After all, if a large enough quantity of cards is obtained, they can just use them to rebuild the house itself. A Christmas miracle, and Magic...

    Re: Playing with expensive cards

Meh. If you're worried about the condition of your cards after the rigors of game play, just play Ironman.

Re: The Team Pro Tour will feature LEGACY!

It could only be relevant for the qualifiers. Anyone playing on the tour will have zero problems with availability. On the minute chance they lack cards they need, I have zero doubt that they don't...

    Re: [Deck] Dragon Stompy

It doesn't. But then it's not a lock piece either. There's no way Storm will go for a PiF kill against this deck.

    Re: [Deck] Dragon Stompy

That makes sense. So on that note; from what I've seen with the latest lists online, I don't imagine the Bridge version could possibly have a fast enough clock against the AnT decks running 2 Hurkyls...

    Re: [Deck] Dragon Stompy

So you're saying you switched to main deck Bridge, to have a better matchup against a deck that runs 4 Stormchaser, 4 Monastery Swiftspear, and some number of Grim Lavamancer?

    Re: [Deck] Dragon Stompy

Yes. I meant Kiran. But I'm not impressed by Pia herself either.

I understand your idea. But you do realize that once your fatties aren't sick, you will be swinging with them instead of Copter?...

    Re: [Deck] Dragon Stompy

Historically I agree. However Snapcaster is effectively neutered by 3Sphere. Without bringing in GY hate. That, in addition to it's blowout potential and protection against countermagic(as always) is...

    Re: [Deck] Dragon Stompy

With the caveat that the list is obviously unfinished:

    4 Goblin Rabblemaster
    4 Magus of the Moon
    4 Simian Spirit Guide
    3 Sin Prodder
    3 Hanweir Garrison
    2 Chandra's Phoenix

    4 Fiery...

Ok. So though I'm certain it will be met with the same disdain, let me present what I've been testing for such circumstances.

I play a pretty stock Rabblemaster version. It's not set up as well...

    Re: [Deck] Dragon Stompy

Good answer. Nothing wrong with discussion and opinion on differences. Saying a card shouldn't be discussed because you've dismissed it is not only bad form, it's bad for further development.

    On...

    Re: [Deck] Dragon Stompy

I didn't suggest the card. I do think it merits testing though. I didn't say I don't need to prove anything to anyone. I said that I could come up with hundreds of corner cases where the effects of...

You would be incorrect. But then, it seems you think I need to prove something to you. Which also would be incorrect.

I could literally list hundreds of small, corner cases. But the easiest would be when you already have creatures in play and ready to attack, and your opponent drops TNN, Skull, (active)Mom,...

I cant imagine having the slots vs Delver or Reanimator. But yes vs Sneak, though it's extremely narrow there. Deathrite vs. 8 Moons never gains life. I don't run Pia, but sure it would be good...

    Re: [Deck] Dragon Stompy

It doesn't exist on a creature except for a few that damage that they deal can't be prevented. Too narrow. If you're more concerned about casting the card, Leyline is very close to this. And can...

    TNN has protection from Yu.

Protection prevents all damage from the source protected from.

Torment says damage can't be prevented.

Still can't target or block. But combat damage and sweepers...
