    Re: [DTB] Goblins

Just because I disagree with your premise doesn't mean that I don't like goblins or that I'm uninterested in enhancing the deck. I can look at a card and consider it, but I'm thinking that what you...

    Re: [DTB] Goblins

How do you know that it will? Even if it does, how do you know that those decks will produce results?

I don't know that it will be bad, but it certainly doesn't look very good. It looks pretty...

    Re: [DTB] Goblins

You need to have a creature in play. So assuming that you're playing goblins, it's pretty likely you'll have at least 1 creature in play by the time you'll see a SnT.

    Basically, they play SnT,...

    Re: [Deck] Goblins

Your friends are correct, you can only copy creatures on the battlefield. However, there's a nifty little trick you can do, if you copy at the end of your opponent's turn that token will stick around...

    Re: [Deck] Goblins

I felt very similar to you, however abrupt decay kind of screws up the vial/port strategy. I can't tell you how many games I've played against Rock and Bug, where I start with vial turn 1 and port...

    Re: [Deck] Goblins

    I think we need:

    1. Better Removal

    2. Better turn 1 plays, as I said earlier lackey/vial, but mostly I refer to vial here. Vial is great, but abrupt decay seems everywhere. It makes hands that...

    Re: [Deck] Goblins

I hadn't actually consider boros charm, but now that you mention it - that looks like a very good card for us. I'm gonna test that out. It's not really removal, but it looks like it could help our...

    Re: [Deck] Goblins

Goblins seems to be not doing so good for me :[

I think the problem is the removal we have isn't really good enough and our turn 1 plays are very lackluster now.

    Removal options:

    GemPalm -...

    Re: [Deck] Goblins

I'll give you some valid reasons.

He's very expensive and his ability isn't that great.

He's one of those cards that looks good on paper, but I think in practice you're going to find that he...

    Re: [Deck] Goblins

Against miracles and stoneblade, I'd probably side them out. Against BuG though, you hit a pretty good portion of their deck, however abrupt decay can still play right through chalice anyway. But...

Bloodmoon or surgical extraction and hit their non-basics (try getting their green sources if you can) after hitting them with wasteland. If you can get their cloud posts you pretty much win.

    You...

    and

You know I'd like to discuss port a bit more. I actually love this card. Playing a turn 1 vial and then turn 2 hitting them with a port and locking that land down. Drop that lackey on...

    Re: [DTB] Goblins

I'm not worried about tarmogoyf in this MU, I'm more worried about the delvers here. In my experience the Flying 3/2 hurts more than a vanilla beater that I can chump if I have to. Hell I'm even more...

    Re: [DTB] Goblins

I like army loyalist as a 1-of in the deck, I still like 4 piledrivers in my goblins and he makes them so much better and he only costs 1 :O!

    Re: [DTB] Goblins

In my experience, instigator is better against a meta with a bunch of control decks. The current meta seems to have more aggro decks, which makes more removal better.

    Re: [DTB] Goblins

No... I haven't actually considered him. For me it would be a question of what would I cut to fit him into my list and assuming I did cut something, would his inclusion be worth it?

    I think he's...

    Re: [DTB] Goblins

    A few reasons:

    1. it costs 1W, so it's very splashable, Leyline costs 2BB (or you have to mulligan to get it if you don't have it in your opening hand).
    2. RiP gets rid of graveyards when it hits...

@Davek - good report, nice job on your finish.

Also I wanted to comment on the Belcher MU. I hate playing against belcher, in every tournament I've been to where I've had to play against belcher,...

    Re: [DTB] Goblins

The way I look at it, even if you did disguise yourself for a turn, since those decks are all aggro - most decks you play against game 1 will use the same kind of strategy against all of them anyway....

    Re: [DTB] Goblins

I'd play fetch into basic mountain->Aether Vial, if it sticks, cool. I'd probably play port after that and start porting and hope to draw some goblins and play off vial. I only play wasteland when I...

    Re: [DTB] Goblins

I agree with your friend. From your deck above it looks like you went for a tool box and sacrificed a lot of aggro/tempo generating cards to do that.

So my advice: -1 Krenko, -1 Tarfire, -1...

    Re: [DTB] Goblins

@GoboLord: Okay I like some of the arguments you have there (its not enough to play though Thalia, they have to remove her and that aggro decks want creatures).

Still though I'm very skeptical of...

    Re: [DTB] Goblins

Yes you can cheat it into play with vial but in order to do that you'd have to wait until turn 3.

Your second point - cavern of souls, you'd have to name human or soldier to play her without any...

    Re: [DTB] Goblins

I don't care if Gobolord found it great (arguments stand and fall on their own - so I don't care who said it). I wouldn't use Thalia, I think she looks terrible.

I'd need to splash white to fit...
